6.13.13 - Durable frame, 6-foot-3, 210-pound left-handed pitcher. Works from lower-3/4 arm slot, long arm action, drop and drive delivery. Fastball topped at 80 mph, sitting 77-78. Also throws 67-72 mph curveball and a 75-76 mph changeup.

2/17/13 - Strong build, athletic frame, 6-foot-3, 215-pound left handed pitcher. Delivery shows some rhythm, works rotationally, low ¾ arm slot, long arm action. Fastball has slight sink, thrown for strikes, 77-79 mph. Curveball has sweeping action, has more slider action, 68-71 mph. Changeup has some feel, thrown for strikes, arm action decelerates, 70-72 mph.

6/14/12 Holmes is a physically advanced 6-foot-2, 215-pound multi-positional player who has intriguing upside on the mound. The left-hander showed feel for three pitches. His fastball topped at 81 mph, while his curveball sat at 63-65 mph. Additionally, he threw a changeup that sat at 70 mph. With a few mechanical adjustments, Holmes should see his velocity spike in the coming years. Offensively, he showcased a level, line drive swing. Holmes barreled up balls to all fields, showing some power potential.

1/22/12 Holmes is a physical, athletically built 6-foot-2, 210-pound left-handed pitcher who impressed with his fastball that topped at 83 mph, sitting at 81-82, with hard, late arm-side sink. He also commanded a 72-75 mph that flashed late bite, and a 70-71 mph changeup. With continued development, Holmes has the potential to be a power left-handed arm in the Class of 2014.
