6.13.13 - Athletically built left handed outfielder with some length, 6-foot-1, 170-pounds. Offensively hits from a balanced setup, uses smooth load and short stride. Lower half is active, excellent balance throughout. Bat path stays flat through the hitting zone, short to the baseball, barrel head stays in the hitting zone. Advanced hand-eye, 81 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively made accurate throws, 79 mph from the outfield, long arm action. 7.33 runner in the 60.

2/17/13 - Lanky frame, lean build, 6-foot-1, 170-pound outfielder. Offensively is one of the top pure hitters in his class. Hits from a balanced stance, smooth load, short stride. Hands work well through the zone, gets extension, stays long through the baseball, excellent barrel awareness, showed pull side approach. Pure hitter who finds the barrel regularly. Defensively shows fluid footwork to the baseball, arm works from a short high ¾ arm slot, 79 mph arm strength from the outfield.
10/21/12 - The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Richards is one of the top left-handed bats in the Class of 2014. He has an easy, balanced approach at the plate. He demonstrated swing looseness and a mechanically sound, repeatable swing. He is quick and quiet to the baseball, and remains flat through the zone, creating lag and barrel whip. He gets excellent extension after contact, staying balanced throughout. Defensively, Richard moves athletically and takes precise routes to the baseball. His ball stays on line with solid carry (82 mph). Richard also ran a 7.19 60.
6/14/12 Richard is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound left-handed hitting outfielder who impressed with his easy, compact swing. Richard has an advanced, relaxed plate approach, one that showed swing looseness and barrel control. Richard starts with a balanced setup and takes an economical approach to the baseball. He showed whip through the zone as he sprayed line drives to all fields. Defensively, Richard possesses an accurate arm with solid carry (78 mph). Additionally, Richard ran a 7.45 60.
Brian Richard is a lean 5-foot-11, 150-pound Class of 2014 OF from Oak Forest HS, was the top overall performer from the event in the field and on the mound. At the plate, Richard displayed impressive bat speed and a well-balanced swing. Richard's short bat path and level swing through the zone allowed him to spray line drives to all fields with excellent backspin carry. On the mound, the freshman varsity starter displayed a feel for all three pitches. He operated from an over the top arm slot with a fastball that sat at 78 mph and topped at 80 mph. He also showcased a 12/6 sharp curveball that was consistently located for a strike. His change-up displayed sink and was located down in the zone at 70-72 mph.
1/22/12 Richard is a 6-foot, 165-pound two-way athlete who impressed defensively.  He moved well in the outfield and had natural instincts.  He played through the ball and stayed behind his throws.  He had an accurate, smooth arm (78 mph).  Offensively, Richard has a clean left-handed swing. On the mound Richard has a short, quick arm and feel for three pitches: a 77-79 mph fastball with late action, a 70-73 mph curveball that had tight spin, and a 68-73 changeup.
