6/17/14 – Cornelius is a 6-foot 180-pound shortstop. Cornelius had a positional velo of 82 MPH using an over-the-top release.  He showed quick hands and smooth footwook, making clean exchanges and accurate throws.  At the plate, Cornelius uses a controlled leg kick to start his swing and has a level swing path through extension.  He has a gap-to-gap approach, and squared up the ball consistently during batting practice.  He has an exit velo of 87 MPH, runs a 4.56 home-to-first and a 6.94 60.

1/20/14 – Chris is a solid, athletic 6-foot 170-pound right hand hitting SS/2B.  He posted on of the top infield velos of the event at 80 MPH and had very accurate throws.  He throws with an over-the-top arm action, which produces carry on the ball.  Cornelius has a quick, clean exchange and the ability to play through the ball.  At the plate,  he has a simple load with minimal hand movement.  He has a level swing that has power potential to both gaps.  He notched an exit velo of 78 MPH and ran a 7.19 60, one of the top times in the event.

2/18/13: Cornelius has an athletic 6-foot, 170-pound fame. He showed athletic actions and an accurate throwing arm (71-mph).  With some more use of his lower half on his throws, his velocity should increase. Cornelius moves well laterally and takes precise angles to the baseball. He showed a quick exchange and the ability to make plays on the move. Offensively, Cornelius showed a short swing path and good extension with a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. He squared the baseball consistently and showed the potential for some power with added maturity to his athletic frame.

11/11/12: Cornelius showed advanced actions in the field and at the plate for a player of his age. At third base, the 5-foot-9, 160-pound Cornelius showed quick footwork to the ball, with smooth and quick hands while delivering accurate throws across the field. At the plate, Cornelius has a balanced stance with a smooth load, good rhythm, and balance throughout his swing. His strong lower half and loose hands helped generate bat speed trough the zone, driving the ball gap to gap. Cornelius has potential to be a top level Class of 2016 player as he continues to progress.

3/16/19: Cornelius is enjoying a breakout offensive season with a current .381/.481/.587 slash. He has a simple, compact, repeatable swing with loose hands and average bat speed. He got a little spinny at times when he didn't transfer his weight forward, but overall showed a sound approach at the plate. Defensively, he showed smooth actions, soft hands, average range and a fringe average arm. Also showed quick hands, especially on the double play transfer. Struggled with the bat over the weekend going 1-for-10 with two walks and four strikeouts, but with strong defensive skills and an excellent offensive start to his 2019 season, Cornelius has firmly put himself on the radar of MLB scouts.
