3B/RHP Luke Burns (Catalina Foothills, 2024)
6-foot 155 pounds. Longer build with room to add strength. Projectable body. (Running) 7.38 runner in the 60 yard. Long limbs, potential speed increase with strength/maturity. (Offense) RH. Max EV 87. Max Dist 288. Base is outside of shoulder width with knocked knees and a slight bend. Hands are held at the back shoulder. Some rhythm with the upper body in stance. Sinks into back leg with load, good strong starting position. Stride is direct to pitcher, can get slightly rushed with load/pre pitch. Not much separation with hands, as weight transfers forward hands stay put, creates a small amount of length. His long limbs make it tougher for him to control the barrel, as strength is added and more reps come, expect more barrel control and consistency. (Defense) RH. IF velo 78. Longer arm action for the middle infield, throws from a higher slot. Arm showed some promise, can play from the left side. May need to shorten up arm action. Some extra movement with the glove prior to fielding. Flows into the ball well and stays in motion to target. Profiles best as 3B.
