Large 6’2” 175lbs build, strength in lower half with average coordination. Relaxed open stance. Starts hands at center of body loading to back shoulder. Uses leg kick, turning leg in to generate leverage. Lands square with quick finish. Pull approach at 80mph exit velocity. Fields ball from low position with one hand. Gathers feet to throw. 70mph across diamond. Pitches from high arm slot with tall balance point. FB Sat 69-72 with some two seam action with gradual CV at 58-63mph.
6’2 175-pound frame. Starts with an open stance, using a leg kick to get back to square. Stays over rear hip well to match pitch plane. Occasionally gets stuck too far back creating an inconsistent bat path. Works low to field the baseball, using two hands to get the ball out as soon as he can. Showed good direction when throwing to the bases.
Fastball was up to 72 MPH from the left side with a breaking ball into the low 60s. Mobility will need to improve to get the most out of his body and move more efficiently.
10/29/17 – Young, 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame. Right-handed hitter starts from tall, open stance. 80 mph exit velo with uphill bat path. Big target at first base showed some softness in hands and very short arm action. The big lefty also pitched, using same short arm action from high ¾ slot and short stride. Worked 66-67 mph with fastball topping at 68. Also threw 55-57 mph breaking ball with lateral spin and 59-63 mph changeup.
