Manzi showed some great consistency in his throw downs to second base on the day, averaging between 2.18-2.25 on his POP time, with most throws ending up right on the bag. With a few minor adjustments in his catch and release, he could quickly become a top defensive catcher to throw out would-be base stealers. Offensively, Matteo showed a clean swing with a good ability to keep backspin on his pull side. He gets behind the pitch well and keeps his hands inside the ball, using the whole field. He has some time to fill out his frame and, with a commitment to the weight room, could turn some good fundamental skills into attention-grabbing actions on the field.
