A physical 2024 grad, Kooner showcased a rhythmic load and swing. He flashed some pop when he timed it up nicely. As he develops as a hitter and makes mechanical adjustments, Kooner could produce some sound bat speed. Defensively, he showed the ability to pick it a little bit, and although he could improve his approach to the ball and footwork, he gets it off quickly and accurately to his target. Kooner showed a fastball in the mid-60s with some run on the mound and a slow-breaking curveball. There is a lot more here in his pitching motion, and with mechanical adjustments, he could see an uptick in a hurry.
