Roth got the chance to log some of his first varsity innings in the prime time slot on Friday night, with his team carrying a lead and fantastic start by Reid Worley. He squared off against a tough Blessed Trinity line up. He did not waste any time, and got ahead of guys early. He mixed in his off speed well, keeping hitters off balance. The ability to keep the ball down in the zone was the biggest key for Roth. The delivery is well synced and ready to add size and strength to add more velo in the future. The fastball worked up to 81, but really seemed to get on the hitters and produced whiffs. He also got it done at the plate this weekend, making Roth a name to keep an eye this spring as he continues to develop.
