Hedman

8/17/14 – Hedman is an athletic 5-foot-11, 175-pound right-hand hitting outfielder. He posted a home-to-first time of 4.45. PJ throws from an over-the-top arm slot and has loose, long arm action. His throws were accurate and had great life. He gets great reads and reacts well. His position velo was 82 MPH from the outfield. At the plate, Hedman has a slightly closed setup with a back load. PJ uses the middle of the field. He had an exit velo of 82 MPH.

2/23/14 – Hedman is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound outfielder and runs a 4.37 home-to-first. Hedman has a clean exchange with a high ¾ release.  He has a 79 MPH positional velo with mostly accurate throws and plays through the ball well.  At the plate, Hedman did get a little uphill but hit consistent line drives.  He has a smooth, athletic load and gets good extension.  Hedman has good rhythm and balance throughout the swing and has an 83 MPH exit velo. one of the top for outfielders at the event.

2/18/13: In the outfield, Hedman showed quick footwork to the ball and a strong arm (81-mph) that should continue to get stronger as he gets stronger. At the plate, Hedman displayed quick hands and some bat speed. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Hedman was able to hit gap-to-gap. He did get under the ball a bit, if he can stay on top he has ability to be a consistent line drive hitter. Hedman also had a top exit velocity of 81-mph off the bat.
