Thompson is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. At the event, Thompson ran a 7.19 second 60 and 4.58 home-to-first. At the plate, posted an exit velocity of 81 mph, simple and repeatable swing, minimal negative movement into load, in line stride, quick hands, slight uphill bat path. In the outfield, smooth defensive actions, clean transfers, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 76 mph, fairly accurate throws. On the mound, Thompson shows a deceptive delivery, hides the ball behind his body, strong glove side, accelerates down the mound, delivery has a quicker tempo, repeats, downhill tilt, over the top release, shows a 4 pitch mix in bullpen sessions. Fastball is thrown for a high percentage of strikes, 73-76 mph, curveball is sharp at times, 64-67 mph, near fastball arm speed, changeup is 64-65 mph, split finger fastball shows downward action, thrown aggressively, 61-65 mph.
