Projectable, 6-foot 150, Kieffer throws from an overhand slot with consistent downhill plane. He has a quick arm and a fastball with straight fade at 82-84, touching 85. He throws a breaking ball with repeated depth and occasional bite. The changeup was firm 76-78 with full, quick arm deception and sink. Kieffer is a solid athlete that will likely swing the bat during his high school career. He maintains a simple approach, striding wide with a natural loft to his swing. His real future is on the mound. Size and strength improvements should lead to velocity jumps and provide an opportunity to be touching 90 before his high school career is over.

11/14/18-Lanky, 6-foot, 150, Kieffer has an athletic build. He revealed solid infield actions with an efficient exchange and employed an added shuffle when throwing across the diamond.  Foot speed and range lend better to second or third base at this time.  At the plate, he starts open and strides closed with good balance and an on-plane swing.  He relies on leverage and strength over bat speed but his swing mechanics are solid.  Kieffer is a projectable right-hander who delivers from an over hand slot, relying on a plane over life fastball up to 80.  He throws a 12/6 curveball up to 68 and a changeup topping out at 74. The velocity of the changeup is not quite the differential one is looking for but I suspect the fastball is firmer on most days.  He carries his hands in his glove prior to hand break, lending to occasional late separation and misses up in zone or backing up the breaking ball. His delivery is upright and he clears his upper body out at the height of his leg lift to clear a path for his arm.
