Baseball Strength Training: Preseason Agendas



With baseball right around the corner, today’s “preseason strength training” article will discuss several ways you can make adjustments in the weight room to ensure you’re ready for the upcoming season.

Stimulate your “fast twitch” muscle fibers with explosive exercises

Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a “fast twitch” muscle.  Having said that, you have a certain amount of fast-twitch muscle fibers (Type II) within a given muscle.  Training for explosiveness stimulates a greater amount of Type II fibers to fire and your muscles to exert more force as a result.
