The ‘Hotlist’ is a series that provides weekly insight into the high school baseball scene spanning the country, curated by Prep Baseball’s state directors who are situated nationwide, with vital intel on the prospects who are in their own backyards. Each week, we’ll publish our ‘Hotlist’ on varying topics that are timeliest to the national baseball calendar at that point in time.

This week’s topic: The changes made to the recruiting rules at the NCAA level have made it so there are some very talented seniors who are still uncommitted – and at a point later on the calendar than we're used to seeing. With that, state directors shared some of the best unsigned '24s from their states, worthy of college coaches' attention headed into the spring.

North Carolina

+ Jack Hedrick, RHP, Charlotte Catholic HS:

“6-foot-6, 210 pound righty put himself on the map at an early summer Team Carolina Trial and then followed up that outing later in the summer at the NC Top Prospect Games. The growth earned Hedrick an invite to this weekend's NC ProCase as he ranged 88-90, touching 91 with solid feel for the zone. The breaking ball continued to sharpen, sitting 71-74 with 10/4 tilt and some suddenness as he worked toward the zone. The clean arm and big frame make him a prospect that can help schools immediately, but it may be the upside that everyone is really recruiting.”
