SHOCKERS OF THE DAY
Stanford Olympia (11-19, 7-7 Corn Belt) stunned Normal U-High (23-4, 9-4 Corn Belt) behind Clay Bachman and Justin Slager 6-4. Bachman went 3-for-3 for the Spartans and drove home a run. Slager chipped in with a single and two RBI.
Kaneland (17-10) blasted Geneseo (24-4) behind a four-hit shutout from Kolton Fellows 8-0. Fellows struck out eight Maple Leaf batters. Danny Hammermeister led the Knight attack with a 3-for-3 game with a double and three RBI.
McHenry (17-10, 5-6 Fox Valley Valley) stunned No. 20 Jacobs (20-7, 8-4 Fox Valley Valley) in eight thrilling innings 4-3. Ryan Grannemann led the Warrior attack with a double and two RBI. McHenry won the game in the bottom of the eighth in walk-off fashion on a Jacobs error.
