No. 5 O’Fallon 6, No. 15 Edwardsville 4
O’ Fallon (28-2; 12-1) wrapped up another Southwestern Conference championship, the Panthers sixth in the last eight years, at Tom Pile Field in Edwardsville behind Dean Gerros. Gerros broke up a 1-1 tie in the Panther fourth, when he launched a two-run blast over the centerfield fence to give O’Fallon a 3-1 lead. In the top of the sixth, Gerros struck again, this time with a clutch two-out RBI single to extend the Panther lead to 4-2. Chris Holba improved to 6-0 with a complete-game victory for O’Fallon. The win was the 16th consecutive victory for the SWC champions from O’Fallon, since losing 8-1 to Edwardsville on April 15.

Glenbrook North 5, Highland Park 4
Glenbrook North (15-12; 10-4) closed to within a game of CCL-North leader Highland Park with the win at Wolters Park in Highland Park.. The Spartans prevailed behind Brice Call who fired four scoreless innings at Highland Park (18-10;11-3) after the Giants had clawed back to within 5-4 in the bottom of the fourth. Call allowed one hit in his game-winning performance. Kyle Mitter and Harrison Solano led the Spartan attack. Mitter had two singles and plated three Spartan runs while Solano singled doubled and drove home the other two Spartan runs.

No. 25 Carmel 6, St. Viator 4
Carmel (20-8-1; 9-4) continued its drive to catch JCA atop the ESCC with the big road win in Arlington Heights. With the game tied at 4-4, the Corsairs won it in their last at bat in the seventh. Ian Kristan hit a 3-1 pitch soaring over the right-field fence, leading off the top of the seventh for a 5-4 Corsair lead. Sophomore Cal Coughlin came up with a clutch two-out RBI single to right to complete the scoring in the game. Carmel senior Bryan Stanislawski fired a scoreless 7th, striking out the last Lion batter to end the game with a flourish, to nail down the save for winning pitcher Quentin Sefcik.

Grant 4, Vernon Hills 1
Grant (23-6; 9-2) clinched a tie for the NSC-Prairie crown behind Bulldog ace Andrew Stone. Stone was magnificent, firing a two-hitter at the Cougars to improve to 9-0 on the mound. Tim Torres had a single and plated a pair of Bulldog runs while Will Zitkus chipped in with a single and an RBI.
