2021 OVERALL RANKINGS RELEASED
By Sean Duncan

It is still extremely early, perhaps even premature, to be forecasting Class of 2021 prospects, especially since these freshmen haven’t even played a varsity high school game. Then again, with the recent acceleration of recruiting, high-level 2021 prospects are already pledging their commitments to schools at a startling clip.

With that said, we have released our initial 2021 rankings, a modest list of 50 prospects that have stood out among their peers. Certainly this list will change and evolve in time, as we know many players will grow, develop and mature. We also know that we likely haven’t seen many other 2021 prospects that may be deserving of this list.

However, we are confident that the players included in the list have extremely bright futures, barring injuries, of course. In fact, 24 of the Top 50 freshmen are already verbally committed, and several more have pinned Twitter commitments that just missed the cut.

THE BUZZ: LOUISIANA STATE LANDS TOP RECRUITS
By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

Louisiana State picked up two major commitments this week, landing RHP Thomas Wilhite (West Ouachita HS, LA) and C Alex Milazzo (Zachary HS, LA). Ranked in the top 10 in Louisiana’s 2019 class and stood out at the Future Games in August. Wilhite pitched at 87-91 mph and mixed in a changeup with deception. He also spins an 11/5 curveball at 72-75. Milazzo was one of the top catchers at the event, showing premium defensive tools to go with a short path at the plate.

SALEM - Every time Michigan State saw Jacob Seipenko pitch it was a stellar performance.

The Spartans hope that continues after the hard-throwing right-hander committed to stay in state and play at the Big Ten school.

“The first game coach (Graham) Sikes saw me this summer I had a complete game,” the 6-6 210-pounder said in reference to the MSU assistant. “The next time it was another complete game and the third time I had 14 strikeouts giving up two runs and five hits.

“Then at the Top Prospect Games I struck out three or four guys and touched 90 for the very first time. The adrenaline was going with all the coaches there and playing against the best kids in Michigan. They were excited with that and had me come for a visit.”

Things only got better for Seipenko.
