OUTLOOK:  

Take a run through the Bexley lineup and you will find that five of the nine starters have started every game over the past two years. With that sort of experience, there is reason for optimism for Coach Marker in 2014. Juniors RHP Drew Elliott and LHP Josh Shapiro will combine to form one of the top 1-2 pitching combos in the Mid State Conference. Elliott is a big 6-foot-5, 200-pound prospect with plenty of potential after going 5-1 last season. Meanwhile Shaprio returns as the ace with plenty of experience under his belt. He earned first team all-district honors last season after going 6-1 with a 1.78 ERA while striking out 67 batters over 51 innings of work. Offensively and defensively, senior shortstop Tate Hughes will be counted on after earning 2nd team all district honors as a junior.
