OUTLOOK:  

The Marysville Monarchs took the Central District tournament by surprise in 2013 as they beat Watkins Memorial to win their first district championship since 1992. The biggest change for the Monarchs in 2013 won't be changes to the roster. John Carder resigned as the head coach after taking an assistant principal's position in another district. Now, Mark Brunswick, a 3rd round pick by the New York Mets in 1984 and former coach at Bellefontaine, takes over the program. He inherits a roster of talented players, including senior RHP/1B Jarod Yoakam (Cincinnati) and junior RHP/IF Aron Mowery, who was the team's ace as a sophomore last season.
