OUTLOOK:

The White River Valley Wolverines and Head Coach Chris Cornelius are looking to build 2013's 8 win season, a school record.  Coach Cornelius is in his second year as Head Coach at WRV and says the team is in "building mode" not rebuilding mode.  The school has never had a winning season.  Leading the way for the Wolverines is sophomore Hunter Cornelius, a MIF/OF, that batted .348  with a team leading 23 hits last year.  Cornelius also swiped 12 bags on the season and was All-Conference.  Sophomore Houston Boram also earned All-Conference honors as a freshman after hitting .400 with 22 hits and 3 HR's. Senior Trent Carpenter returns as on the top arms for the Wolverines this season.  The senior RHP/1B hit .319 as a Junior. Looking for a breakout senior season is INF/P Michael Fisher.  Fishers is 6-foot-2, 220 pounds and hit .269 last year.  Fisher is expected to contribute both at the plate and on the mound this season.  Junior LHP/OF Austin Frye went 2-3 on the mound as a sophomore and will once again contribute on the mound.  Also expected to contribute this spring is sophomore Dilean Delph, a 5-foot-7, 200 pound P/OF/INF that hit .250 in 2013.  Look for White River Valley to compete with Shakamak, Linton and Eastern for a SWIAC championship this season.
