2015 Connor Moroder turning head with his game

Connor Moroder has been on the rise of late. His physical presence at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds and his left handed stick has vaulted the third baseman into the top 25 of a deep 2015 class in Wisconsin. Unknown to many, Moroder showed extremely well at the Southern Wisconsin Prospect ID and inserted himself firmly in the middle of the discussion of high level left handed hitting third baseman.

A 2015 graduate of Pewaukee HS, Moroder’s high school plays summer baseball which he has chosen to forgo to play with the STiKS Academy out of Oconomowoc.Connor Moroder

Moroder has soft hands on the infield and a highly efficient transfer. He plays through the ball well and shows the ability to make the back hand play down the line with a strong arm (80 mph) as well as playing the bunt while on the move.

Offensively he hits from the left side with short path and occasional lift. His bat speed is well above average to play at the next level and has posted exit velocities of 85 mph.

Moroder is still new to the recruiting process and is starting to get more attention; my guess is he will have plenty of options.

“When I look at baseball programs, I want to see a winning tradition and a coaching staff that can help me take my game to the next level. A big thing will also be the education aspects at schools as well as learning the life lessons and responsibility that being a college athlete teaches you,” said Moroder.

On top of his baseball acumen Moroder is also a standout in the classroom. He is currently holding a 3.65 GPA and received National Merit Awards both his freshman and sophomore year.

Moroder is looking forward to this summer and hopes to have another big year as one of the top prospects in the Class of 2015.
