TOP PLAYERS (Coach’s Comments)

Tanner Walker, 2016, RHP, 6'5" 175, All-County and All-District Tournament Team. Tanner has seen increased velocity and has plus secondary stuff that should make him the ace of the staff. He had a 3.35 era last season with 56 IP as a Sophomore against some of the tougher teams on our schedule. Blake Redmon, 2016, MIF/RHP, Bats R, Throws R, 5'8" 160. Blake will be a two-way player who we will look to rely on as our lead off hitter this season. He missed 15 games last season with a broken thumb, but returned to hit .358 with a .460 on-base percentage and only struck out 2 times in 66 plate appearances.  Blake gained valuable relief experience on the mound as a Sophomore in 2014, and will see an increased role on the mound this season. He had a 3.06 era in 16 IP, including a pivotal save in the first round of the district tournament. Dawson Willis, 2015, C, Bats R, Throws R, 5'9", 160. Dawson hit .296 with 9 doubles and led the team with 21 RBIs a season ago hitting 3rd in the lineup, while also sporting a .376 on-base percentage. He only struck out 10 times in 118 plate appearances a year ago, and we will look for him to hit 3rd or clean up for us this season.

Isaac Dotson, 2018, RHP/OF, 6'1", 165. Isaac had the second best era on the team as an 8th grader a season ago at 2.85. He had 27 IP, including complete game victories over Somerset and Bishop Brossart. That experience should help him compete for even more innings on the mound as a Freshmen this season. Isaac could also compete for time in the OF after hitting over .300 during F/JV games a season ago.

TOP UNDERCLASSMEN

Evan Flora, 2016, OF

Ryan Staples, 2017, RHP/IF

Garryn Wood, 2017, C (Profile and Video on PBR site)

Notable Losses

Quenton Brownlee, RHP/SS, All-County MVP, All-District Tournament Team MVP, 11th Region All-Tournament Team, East/West All-Star game

According to the Coach

We lost two of our top pitchers and our 1-3 hitters to graduation last year, and will look to rely on some younger guys to step up this year to defend our 41st District Championship. Pitching staff is young but have several guys with experience and that should be a strength of our team. Hitting from top to bottom should be improved as well. Our district is wide open this year.
