TOP PLAYERS (Coach’s Comments)

Garrison Gray-Sophomore-L/R -Projected to hit at the top of the order. Tremendous speed. Will play several positions this spring--in the outfield, infield and will see time on the mound. (Profile and Video on PBR site)

Nathan Lemieux-Sophomore-R/R -Has really made some strides this off season. Handles the bat well, could hit for average and power. Will play the corner infield spots in addition to doing some pitching.

Tanner Thornsberry-Senior-R/R -Returning middle infielder who has the capability of being a big threat at the top of our lineup and a tremendous leader. Runs and handles the bat extremely well.

TOP UNDERCLASSMEN

Connor Taylor-Sophomore-L/L -Another underclassmen who has come a long way this off season. Will play in the outfield and very well may carry the load on the mound this season. Throws multiple pitches for strikes at any time.

Maxx Purvis-Sophomore-L/R -Solid left handed bat who will miss some time early in the season due to injury and will provide innings on the mound upon his return.

Caswell Patton-Freshmen-R/R -Freshman with a live arm and will get a lot of innings on the mound. Can play several positions and will be expected to provide some pop with the bat.

According to the Coach

Our team is filled with underclassmen who are committed to changing the culture around Model baseball. There are 10 returning players from last year's team who will be called upon to provide leadership based on their varsity experience. Our schedule includes four games against district opponents and eleven games against region opponents. Three keys to help the Patriots be competitive will be for pitchers to throw strikes, the defense to make routine plays, and for hitters to find any way possible to get on base. If this can be done on a consistent basis, then it is expected that the Patriots will have a chance to win 20 games, the Bluegrass Conference tournament championship, and for an opportunity to make an appearance at the always tough 11th Region tournament.
