OUTLOOK

Head Coach Kyle Harpring and the Rushville Lions are hoping to compete for both a conference and sectional title in 2015.  Last season they finished 10-17 overall with many freshman and sophomores in the starting lineup.  They return a total of eight position starters and six arms this spring let by Lincoln Trail commit Brad Busald, a 6-foot-5, 195 pound senior southpaw.  Last season Busald went 3-6 on the mound with a 3.07 ERA in 45 2/3 innnings.  Busald is also one of the Lions most consistent hitters, hitting .365 with 24 RBI, 14 SB and an OPB of .427 as a Junior.  Senior Keith Tressler, a 5-foot-11, 175 pound outfielder steadily improved over the course of his sophomore year finishing the season hitting .232 with 4 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR and an OBP of .340.  Junior Caleb Wiles returns for his Junior season after hitting .230 with 10 RBI as a sophomore.  Wiles will also contribute on the mound after going 1-1 with a save as a sophomore last spring.  Sophomore Nick Sprinkle played short stop for the Lions last year as a freshman and steadily improved throughout the year.  Sprinkle finished his freshman season hitting .250 with an OBP of .365.  Sprinkle should also see more innings on the mound this spring.  Juniors Spenser Wilson and Noah Nigh are also expected to be big contributors in 2015.  Wilson hit .316 last year while Nigh saw limited varsity innings due to injury pitching five innings and striking out nine.  Rushville will have to compete with Batesville, East Central and Lawrenceburg in order to stay atop the conference standings.
