The 2015 high school season is just around the corner.  Leading up to the start of the season we are going to take a quick glance at many teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK

The Seymour Owls are led by Head Coach Jeremy Richey.  The Owls finished the 2014 campaign two games under .500 at 13-15.  They return a total of six position players and six arms for the 2015 season and are led by senior RHP/SS Mitchell Moore.  Moore, a 5-foot-10, 180 pound righty hit .342 with 19 Runs, 7 2B, 18 RBI and 15 SB last year as a Junior.  On the mound Moore finished with a 3-4 record and 2.72 ERA.  Seymour will count on Junior RHP Janzen Bloom for productive innings.  Bloom, a 6-foot-2, 230 pound right-hander finished his sophomore season with a 3-7 record, 62 Ks and a 5.73 ERA in 44 IP.  At the plate Bloom hit .200 with 3 2B and 15 RBI.  Richey is counting on sophomore Satoshi Hirose for major contributions this season.  Hirose hit .222 as a freshman with 3 2B, 19 Runs, 12 RBI and 6 SB.  On the mound Hirose pitched in 29 innings posting a 2-1 record with a 2.17 ERA and 16 Ks. Other players expected to contribute this spring are Junior's Keenan Bohall and Jorge Vega along with sophomore Luis Munoz. The Owls will have their work cut out for them in conference play competing with baseball powers Floyd Central, Columbus East and Jeffersonville.
