2016 Recruiting Trail: A Couple Uncommitted Arms are Looking Strong

By Justin Burgess

This week’s 2016 recruiting trail will feature a couple of very solid uncommitted right-handed pitchers. These players are both in the upper 80’s and should be receiving serious looks this summer from D1 programs. If they are not committed by the end of the summer, I would be very surprised if they were still uncommitted by signing days in November.

Nicholas Baldor 1B/RHP Jesuit HS 2016

Baldor stands at 6-foot-1 185 with a lean, athletic, and projectable body. He is vital piece of a strong Jesuit program as he hits in the top half of the lineup, pitches, and plays multiple positions in the field for them. From the mound his fastball is in the 84-88 mph range and he has a good, balanced swing at the plate.

Matt Ranson RHP Port Charlotte HS 2016

Ranson is 6 feet 175 pounds with a lean and athletic frame. His fastball sits in the mid 80’s and he recently has been clocked at 88 mph. His curveball has good depth and he is balanced with a repeatable delivery. He is a strong student and will be taking visits to Creighton and Villanova within the next few weeks.
