With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Michigan is eagerly anticipating bringing the great state of Michigan the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Bay City Western Warriors

Team Name: Bay City Western Warriors
Head Coach: Tim McDonald, 636-204
Division: I
2015 Record: 34-6
Conference Record: Saginaw Valley League, 13-1 
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/3

2016 Team Strengths:

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Pitching experience after top two

Coach Outlook: We return eight seniors, four of whom started as sophomores on the 2014 state championship team. We return our top two pitchers from last year’s 34 win squad. 

Top Returning Players:

  • Jason Clark, P/INF, SR, 5’10” 165, R/R, three year starter, winning pitcher in 2014 state championship game, 20-4 career record, SVSU commit
  • Brandon Wise, P/INF, SR, 6’2” 185, R/R, three year starter, threw 2-0 shutout in 2014 quarterfinal win against Jenison, SVSU commit
  • Hunter David, OF, SR, 6’0” 180, L/R, three year starter
  • Connor Sonnier, INF, SR, 5’8” 150, R/R, two year starter, SVSU commit
