2018 Updated Arkansas Rankings

Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

After a busy fall we wanted to work through and update the 2018 rankings as we finalize this very talented class. We expanded the rankings to encompass 125 players. 46 players have made their college commitments and will be signing their National letters of intent over the next week.

No.1

RHP Jaden Hill- Ashdown HS. Hill takes over the No. 1 spot in the rankings after, climbing the projected draft boards after a monster summer, where he showed off his mid-90s fastball on the national stage on a consistent basis. Hill is 6-foot-4 220-pounds with a large frame and is an advanced athlete. He has shown a feel for his slider and change up.

Stock is Rising

PJ Hilson continues to be a name to know and is drawing interest by several professional baseball organizations. Hilson is a 5-foot-10 outfielder with plus run tool, an advanced arm and is a beginning to show progress as an offensive player with a feel to hit. Some scouts are pushing Hilson going in to the top 10 rounds of the MLB draft next June.

Under the Radar

There are still several players in this class that the recruiting process, will carry on through the early signing period. Below are some name of the top uncommitted players in the state. Three of them are in the top 20 in the class. Brown and Harlow both have advanced arm strength and a feel to pitch. Jimerson is an advanced athlete with a feel to hit, and hit for raw power. Harlow and Jimerson may end up playing college football, but time will tell which sport they choose to play.
