2019 UIL Team Preview - Weatherford

Colter Bostick
PBR Texas Scout

The Texas high school season kicks off on February 21, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 25, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. If you don’t see your team’s season preview make sure your head coach fills out his Preseason Questionnaire.

SEASON PREVIEW

WEATHERFORD – Having lost a majority of the varsity roster from last spring, Weatherford will be looking rebuild and learn quickly as they hope to return to the playoffs in 2019.

Coach Lee will be looking at three seniors to take the reins of leadership this year. RHP/OF Pierce Morris, catcher/1B Lukas Loran and INF Chris Molina along with juniors Jake Seglem (LHP/1B), Jake Munnell (RHP), and Brendon Lopez (RHP/3B) make up the upperclassman portion of the roster. Four sophomores: catcher/RHP Landon Ellington, SS Dawson Nelson, INF/RHP Luke Bagwell, and Bruce Collingsworth, will help bolster the development of the team and gain valuable experience in 2019.
