WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

Expectations for Team - The conference champs from 2023 will have some work to do if they look to repeat in 2024. Returning 4 guys from the lineup and only 1 guy on the mound. The Cardinals will be looking for a few guys to step up into bigger roles.

From the Coach, Expected Team Strength:
East Surry will have a tremendous challenge ahead in 2024 as we have to replace a large portion of our starting lineup and most of our rotation from last year's squad.  We look forward to the challenge of now being the underdog in many conference matchups and also having to prove that we can grow as a team and live up to the standards of success that have been set over the past 15-20 years within East Surry Baseball.        

THOUGHTS ON THE CONFERENCE:

Forbush returns most of their team and all of their major pitchers, led by 2023 Conference Pitcher of the Year Gavin Maines, Thomas Conrad, & Colten Moxley.  They will be the team to beat in the conference and have the potential to make a deep playoff run.  West Wilkes returns several All-Conference players from their team and Coach Ward does an amazing job with his kids.  They will contend for the Conference Championship.  North Surry lost alot of Senior talent, but will still have slugger Myles Draughn  and pitcher Cade Atkins to go along with several talented younger players moving up. Coach Johnson also always instills a gritty, hard-nosed approach with his squads and they will give everyone a challenge.
