2025 Class Rankings Update: Summer Edition

Scott Hood
OK/MO/KS/ARK Assistant Scouting Director

The Summer has come and gone and the recruiting calendar has finally changed, giving the 2025 class their opportunity to make decisions on their future.  Currently, the 25 class in Oklahoma only has 7 commitments but that is not for lack of high-end talent.  Don't be surprised to see names fly off the board in the coming months as Oklahoma still has the big-time prospects that we have been come to be known for.  Today we take a look at the Top 10 as well as some guys that saw their stock rise after big Future Games performances and we take a look at 5 newcomers to the expanded 175 player list.

THE TOP TEN

Ethan Holliday not only retains his spot amongst the top the of the class in Oklahoma but as one of the top hitters in the entire country.  Brumbaugh sees his stock rise up to number 2 after arguably one of the top summers of anyone in the US with not only a strong performance at the Future Games but also lighting up the radar gun on the mound at Area Codes.  Williams checks in at number 3 on the list as still one of the top hitting catchers in the country and proved that once again after a strong performance at the Future Games on both sides of the ball.  Leach remains at number 4 as a physical left-handed bat.  Checking in at number 5 is Eli Ramirez who parlayed his strong performance in Georgia for Team OK into a recent commitment to the University of Oklahoma.  Justice sees his stock rise to number 6 just ahead of the physical back stop from Oktaha in Darren Ledford at number 7.  Auschwitz and Chaloupek put together very strong summer campaigns capped off with big weeks in Georgia to take over the 8th and 9th spots respectively with Brady McAdoo rounding out the top ten as one of the more athletic middle infielders in the State.

FUTURE GAMES RISERS

Brian Justice RHP / SS / Bixby, OK / 2025

Justice sees a spike in the rankings after not only a strong performance at this year's Future Games, but also in looks at him later in the summer that saw a little more velocity than we've seen from him in the past.  With Justice it is all about the ability to spin the ball at a high level, showing excellent shape and action on both a curveball and slider.  Justice also has arguably the top changeup in the class and with his high end pitchability, look for him to continue to be one of the toughest matchups on the mound in OK for the next couple of years.

Cooper Auschwitz OF / 3B / Owasso , OK / 2025

Not many prospects saw their stock rise as much as Auschwitz' after arguably one of the top performances with the bat for Team OK on the week.  Auschwitz finished with multiple hits, including a no-doubt shot of the scoreboard that left the barrel in a hurry showing some unique power to go along with his already impressive athleticism.   His ability to play all over the field with high-end tools, matched with his elite levels of bat speed makes him a must follow prospect in the near future and earning an eleven spot move up to number 8 in this rankings update.

Whaetly Chaloupek RHP / C / Enid, OK / 2025

Another huge mover over the past couple of months moving up 20 spots since our last update is the recent Texas Tech commit Chaloupek.  After showing signs of a power arm in the spring time, Chaloupek really seemed to match up the rhythm on the mound by the end of the summer showing one of the liveliest arms at the entire event.  Chaloupek worked the fastball at 90 mph but it was the action and firmness of the slider that caught everyone's attention to go along with some of the best hand speed in the class.  Chaloupek's rise is no surprise as he has always had the foundation for big time success and is now starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

Marcos Sallee RHP / SS / Claremore, OK / 2025

Sallee sees an eight spot rise after putting together a strong summer campaign and capped off with an impressive looking arsenal at the Future Games.  Sallee worked the fastball up to 90.1 mph with very quick hand speed. and showed a firm slider in the upper 70's with strong action and a very tough to handle changeup in the low 80's.  Sallee still has plenty of room to continue to add weight and build strength, but his athletic frame and raw hand speed on the mound make him a very intriguing prospect to follow in the coming months and years.

Wyatt Fitzgerald RHP / OF / Oklahoma Christian, OK / 2025

Fitzgerald got an unlucky draw at this year's Future Games running into a pop up storm out of nowhere that essentially ended his outing earlier than what was to be expected.  However, he was still able to flash some big time stuff in his short outing earning him a 12 spot rise in the rankings.  Fitzgerald worked the fastball up to 88 with strong riding life through the zone.  He also paired that with a firm slider in the upper 70's with spin rates as high as 2300 with strong attack and a firm changeup with some depth and strong sell.  At 6-foot-3 and 180-pounds, look for Fitzgerald to continue to see big jumps and could potentially turn into one of the top power arms for the class.

Joey McLaughlin OF / LHP / Harrah, OK / 2025

McLaughlin saw major jumps from when we saw him in October of 2022 and when he showed up to the Top Prospect Upperclass Games where he put on a huge performance and earned himself a spot on the Future Games roster.  The left-handed hitting outfielder raised his stock 39 spots to number 22 on the list thanks in large part to his elite bat speed that allows him to reach exit velocities up to 99.5 mph.  Along with the high-end strength at contact, McLaughlin also showed off the athleticism from his projectable 6-foot-3 and 185-pound frame running a 6.71 in the 60.

Gaige Albright LHP / OF / Choctaw, OK / 2025

Albright is another rankings riser coming off a strong performance at the Future Games moving up from 41st in our last update to number 25 on the list.  Albright split his outings in Georgia between appearances on the week and showed some high end potential working the fastball up to 88 mph and showing tight spin on the mid 70's slider that has future swing and miss potential.  Albright is still not a finished product but does show the type of tools on the mound to be considered one of the top prospects on the mound in the class.

Charlie Tolle RHP / RHP / Bethany, OK / 2025

Tolle caught our attention with a strong two-way performance at the Top Prospect Upperclass Games and it was his potential on the mound that earned him a spot on this year's Future Games roster.  Tolle has excellent hand speed on the mound that makes the mid 80's fastball play up at a higher level and shows big action on a sweeping breaking ball that can chase bats.  Tolle has seen big jumps in the past couple of months and don't be surprised to see him continue to make strides in the near future.

RANKINGS NEWCOMERS

Will Lundquist SS / OF / Norman North, OK / 2025

Lundquist really turned some heads at the beginning of the Top Prospect Upperclass Games starting the event off with a bang and his 6.38 60.  Lundquist not only has elite straight speed, he uses the speed efficiently in the outfield and on the basepaths making him functionally the fastest player in the state.  At the plate, he shows strong balance and barrel control making him a potential top of of the order bat in the future at the next level.

Isaac King 3B / C / Victory Christian , OK / 2025

King joins the rankings for the first time after we saw him put together a strong performance at the OKC Open back in mid July.  The stocky-built 3B/C showed strong defensive actions especially behind the plate where he saw showcase pop times as low as 1.92. At the plate the left-handed hitter used his strength in the lower half combined with loose hands to generate exit velocities up to 92.8 mph giving him a strong offensive catcher profile heading into the back half of his high school career.

Riley Lile 3B / RHP / Sterling, OK / 2025

The 3B/RHP from Sterling was another one that caught our attention at the OKC Open that landed him at number 42 on the list as one of the top newcomers to the rankings.  Lile showed strong tools on the position player side working exit velocities up to 91.7 mph with a feel for the barrel.  He then showed a big arm across the diamond working it up to 87 mph which should allow him to stay on the left side of the infield in the future.  On the mound he worked the fastball in the low to mid 80's and showed signs of shaping two breaking balls with tight action.  With his big arm in the infield, don't be surprised to see him make bigger jumps on the mound in the near future.

Michael Simrell OF / LHP / Moss, OK / 2025

The switch hitting outfielder from Moss showed off his athleticism as the OKC Open earning his spot in the rankings for the first time at number 66 on the list.  Moss started the day running a sub 7 second 60 before showing a short and compact stroke from both sides of the plate with exit velocities up to 87 mph.  With a little more added strength, Simrell has the type of tools that should continue to see big jumps in the coming years.

Jackson Poage C / OF / Duncan, OK / 2025

The Duncan back stop had a strong showing back in June at the Top Prospect Upperclass Games that landed him in the rankings for the first time at number 80 on the list.  Poage showed some hand strength at the plate from the right-side working exit velocities up to 88.9 and some sneaky athleticism running a 7.34.  He then showed quick hips behind the plate and worked showcase pop times as low as 2.0.  Another prospect that should continue to add weight and size in the future making him another name to follow in the coming years.
