TROY, AL - The Alabama All-State Games was held on Wednesday, July 6th at Riddle-Pace Field at Troy University in Troy, AL. This event was an invite-only event that consisted of some of the top prospects from the 2023-2025 classes. These players went through extended infield/outfield pregame and took batting practice instruction. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated outings facing hitters during gameplay and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Wednesday.

Continuing off our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at all of the infielders present at the event. Continue to check back as we will release scouting reports for other positions over the next few days.  

Drew Puccio, Arab (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-7, 145-pounds. Strong lower-half, athletic.
Hit: RHH. Open stance, active hands during load, big but quick leg lift. Lift to the swing, works to all parts of the field.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 72.6 mph. 310’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 74 mph.  Clean high 3/4 arm slot, quick transfer.
Defense: Fluid footwork with easy range both ways, solid glove presentation.

Reed Woods, Auburn (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: 2B/SS
Body: 5-10, 150-pounds. Lean build, slender frame.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance, quiet, simple load. Worked middle to opposite field during BP round. Smooth stroke.
Power: 88.3 max exit velocity, averaged 72.9 mph. 221’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 73 mph.  Shorter high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Showed solid range, solid hands. easy actions with the glove.
Run: 7.30 runner in the 60.

Cooper Walls, McAdory (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: SS/3B
Body: 5-11, 158-pounds. Slim frame, athletic.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance, high hands, toe tap to load. Gap-to-gap line drive approach.
Power: 92.2 max exit velocity, averaged 83.5 mph. 348’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 86 mph.  High 3/4, very quick arm action.
Defense: Strong arm, moves laterally with ease.
Run: 7.36 runner in the 60.

Cayden Boutwell, Enterprise (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: SS/OF
Body: 5-9, 160-pounds. Athletic frame, lean, room to add.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance, relaxed hands. Worked back up the middle and opposite side of the field.
Power: 81.2 max exit velocity, averaged 74.5 mph. 266’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 82 mph.  Quick, high 3/4 slot, ability to throw from different arm slots.
Defense: Clean actions. Solid glove presentation.

Body: 5-11, 160-pounds. Slender, lean frame.
Hit: RHH. Even stance, controlled toe tap load, quiet hands. Worked to the middle of the field.

Defense: Good arm, smooth actions.
