Reno Knights (2) vs Las Vegas Aces (3)

The Knights took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh. Reno starter, ’22 Grayson Grinsell and ’20 Caedon Kottinger had combined to hold the potent Aces lineup to just one run over the previous six innings. In the bottom of the seventh, ’19 Parker Schmidt (Oregon) leadoff with a double followed by a game tying single by ’18 Jimmy Gamboa. ’21 Sam Smith entered in relief for the Knights to face ’18 Chaison Miklich. Miklich greeted Smith with a right centerfield drive off the wall, plating pinch runner, ’21 Tripp Edens for the walk off win.

Centennial Bulldogs (8) vs Southern Nevada Tribe (9)

The Bulldogs offense jumped out early led by ’19 Austin Kryszcuk who hit the first of his two double to the wall in left centerfield, scoring the first run. Kryszcuk had 3 RBI in total. Bulldogs starter, ’20 Trevor Szczepanek, scattered  six hits and worked out of trouble throughout the game but the Bulldog hitters were steadfast and with a 5-run fifth staked the team to a 8-5 lead through six innings. However, as we know from the Tribe is prone to late inning heroics and this night was no different, scoring three in the seventh to tie the game, 8-8.  ’21 Logan Spaur, on in relief of starter ’18 Trace Evans for the Tribe, tossed a scoreless eighth and the table was set. Bulldog reliever, ’20 Hunter Brasher recorded the first out with an infield popup. He then walked ’18 Christian Rivero followed by a fly ball out to left field by ’19 Kyle Turner. Rivero stole second and with first base open, ’20 John Howard Bobo was intentionally walked. ’18 Garrett Giles stepped to the plate and lined a ball past a diving ’20 Tucker Berg at second base, scoring Rivero for their third walk off win of the tournament. ’21 Hunter Katschke had a big night for the Tribe with 3 hits, one of which was a game tying, two-out single in the seventh.
