April 25th Daily Game Roundup

Center Grove 3 #2 Cathedral 1 – Nick Owen threw four innings of one hit baseball, striking out three, to get the win. Josh Piper threw the last three innings also allowing just one hit and striking out five. Brock Koehler homered and drove in two runs and Austin Combs was 2-4 with a double and a RBI.

#5 Columbus North 10 Pike 0 – Parker Shelton threw all six innings to get the win allowing four hits and striking out four. He was also 2-3 with a double and two RBI. Evan Finke finished 2-4 with a double and three RBI and Mickey Bell was 2-2 with two runs.

#7 New Albany 10 Clarksville 0 - Jordan Striegel pitched all five innings of the one-hit shutout, striking out 10 and walking none. He also drove in two runs. Garrett Sherrell had a home run and two RBI. Eric Burnett was 2-2 with two RBI and two walks, Logan Striegel was 2-3 with two RBI, and Tucker Marcum was 2-4.

 

Floyd Central 8 #13 Jeffersonville 5 – Garrett Shanks and Kyle Neafus combined to going 7-7 with three RBI. Derek Despain got the win working 5.2 innings and Colton Kimm got the save.

Mount Vernon (Posey) 4 #16 Evansville North 3 - Aaron Roberts singled in Jevin Redman with 2 out and a 2 strike count to give Mt. Vernon the win. Lucas Scarlett had 2 doubles and an RBI for North.

#21 Fishers 13 Avon 3 – J.P. Pena was one of several players for the Fishers that finished with 3 hits and 4 RBIs, including a 3-run home run. Matt Woolwine added his own 3 hits and 2 RBIs, including a double and a 2-run home run. Blake Baumgartner added 2 singles and 2 RBIs, while Cameron VanderBerg and Jon Cordell each contributed doubles. Justin Rhodes remained perfect on the mound (4-0) with his 3rd complete game of the season. Rhodes allowed 5 hits and 3 earned runs, while striking out 4.

Northfield 2 Rochester 0 – Ryan Keaffaber almost threw hit second perfect game of the year allowing just one hit (bloop single) and hitting a batter while striking out seven. He was also 2-2 at the plate with a RBI. Adam Roser was 2-4 with two doubles and a RBI. Tanner Wilcox also had two hits.

Lapel 12 Alexandria 7 – Lapel jumped out to an early 10-0 lead after the first inning. Dane Taylor was 3-4 with two RBI and Adam Taylor was 2-4 with two RBI. Boston Fields, Jacob Troxell, Evan Mohr, and Brady Cherry all went 2-3 with a RBI.

Blue River Valley 5 Eastern Hancock 2 – Dillon Downs got the win going 5.1 innings allowing five hits and striking out seven. He also drove in two runs at the plate. Kurt Fouts was 2-3 with a RBI and two runs and Mark Steiner also drove in a run. Steiner threw a perfect 1.2 innings to get the save.

Adams Central 7 Heritage 6 - The Jets rallied from 4 runs down going into the bottom of the 6th to earn the victory. Cooper Hill scattered 10 hits over the 7 innings to pick up the win. He struck out 6 and walked 3. Matt Schwaller provided the big blow in the game, a two-run home run that brought the Jets within 2 in the sixth inning.  He was 2-3 in the game with 3 RBI. Brady Butler was also 2-3 with a couple of singles. With 2 outs and runners on first and second, Dalton Combs came up big as he cut down the tying run at the plate from right field to end the game and secure the win for Adams Central.

Evansville Reitz 7 Evansville Bosse 1 - Cole Nagy threw a complete game for Reitz to get the win. Reitz' Daniel Sander had two doubles and scored three runs. Bosse's Jon Smith had two hits and an RBI.

Northview 11 Mooresville 10 - TJ Decker and Zach Hull both had two hits and drove in two runs. Conner Ganly doubled and drove in a run.

Turkey Run 10 South Putnam 5 – Schuyler Jeffers threw a complete game not allowing an earned run and striking out seven. He also had two hits and a RBI. Dallas Thomas was 2-4 with three RBI, Riley Sunderman was 3-3 with two runs, and Jeff Woods drove in two runs.

Boone Groove 10 Hebron 7 F/8 – Dean Hill led the offense going 4-4 with a double, RBI, and two runs. Tommy Burton was 3-4 with a double and two RBI. Jon Hogg had two hits and Jake Wright scored four times.

Hanover Central 20 LaCrosse 0 – Jesse Wilkening threw all five innings allowing one hit and striking out nine. He was also 3-5 with a double, two RBI, and two runs. Riley Welch was 4-5 with two RBI and three runs. Zac Maciejewski was 3-4 with a double, two RBI, ad three runs.

Bellmont 8 Woodlan 3 – Nick Reinking threw a complete game allowing three hits, no earned runs, and striking out five. Brian Hakes was 2-3 with a homerun and three RBI and Landon Baker was 2-3 with a double and a RBI.

Frankton 10 Daleville 5 – Trevor Hughes finished 2-4 with two triples and six RBI. Jon Griffey was 2-4 with a double and a RBI.

Delphi 9 Twin Lakes 7 – Brett Hawn finished the game 3-3 with two doubles and three RBI. Garrett Johnson was 2-3 with a double and a RBI and Kolby Myer drove in two runs.

Franklin Central 16 Southport 2 – Austin Kiel finished 4-4 with four runs scored, Justin Jones was 2-5 with a triple and three RBI, and Chris Franklin was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs.

North Central (Farmersburg) 5 Eastern Greene 1 – Connor Strain picked up the complete game win allowing one unearned run and striking out eight. Cole Johnson was 2-4 with a double and three RBI.
