Arkansas Insider: Unsigned Seniors

Here is a look at five uncommitted 2017 graduates, that should gain momentum as they head into their senior year.

2017 MIF Taj Bishop Ashdown High School
Bishop is a 6-foot 160-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and a thin build. He is a premium athlete that runs a 6.71 in the 60. Defensively he works through the baseball with fluid footwork and an a quick exchange. He throws the ball 83 mph across the infield with a loose arm from a H ¾ arm slot. Offensively he starts from a tall stance he uses a slight load, he uses a short stride and attacks the baseball with line drive swing producing exit velocities up to 88 mph. Overall Bishop is a raw athlete with a projectability due to frame and arm action.

2017 C Denver Mullins, Cabot HS
Mullins is a 6-foot 185-pound catcher with an athletic frame and a strong build. He threw pop times ranging from 2.03-2.13 in between innings. He has a wide stance, he showed solid effort and technique in blocking. He received the baseball with soft hand, at times he worked down to the breaking ball. Offensively he started with an athletic stance with a minimum load, He uses a slight leg kick for timing. He attacks the baseball with a level swing and solid bat speed. He has average use of his lower half, and maintains balance throughout his swing. Overall Mullins is a solid catcher with an advanced approach at the plate, as a gap to gap hitter.

2017 RHP Brett Brockington, Cabot HS
Brockington is a 6-foot-3 170-pound right-hander with an athletic frame and a lanky build. He pitches from a H ¾ arm slot with a quick loose arm. He has a simple drop and drive with regular effort. He has some rhythm and stays online throughout his delivery. His fastball works 84-87 mph with slight sink. He throws a 71-73 curveball with 11/5 shape and early break. Overall Brockington is projectable with a clean arm action with solid athleticism.

2017 CIF Adrian Hannah, Searcy HS
Hannah is a 6-foot-1 190-pound corner infielder with a large frame and an average build. He ran a 4.35 down the line. Defensively he works through the baseball with some stiffness, with average footwork. He throws with a long arm action from a H ¾ arm slot, accurately. He showed some arm strength throwing the ball 81 mph off the mound. Offensively he starts from a balanced stance, with a smooth load, a short stride and a uses solid hip rotation. He attacks the baseball with fast bat speed with a line drive swing. He shows balance through extension. Overall Hannah is an advanced left-handed bat that showed pull power.

2017 MIF Bryson Haskins, Ashdown HS
Haskins is a 6-foot, 180-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and build. Defensively he played through the baseball with soft-hands and fluid foot work. He showed a quick exchange and an accurate. Offensively he has a line drive swing with balance through extension. Overall Haskins is an advanced athlete that will compete at the next level will he refines is overall skill set.
