Big Innings lifts Perry Meridian over Decatur Central 8-6

Perry Meridian will move on in the Avon sectional with an 8-6 win over Decatur Central Thursday evening.  Perry Meridian had great performances at the plate as hitters found a way on base nearly every inning.

An RBI triple by Brendan Dudas (2013) and a single by Collin Timmons (2014) to score Dudas gave Perry a 2-0 lead.  Decatur Central would tie the game up in the fourth with a sacrifice fly from Cole Keeley (2012) to score Dylan Leighty (2013). Later in the inning Austin Nixon (2015) would score on a passed ball to tie the game at two.

Perry Meridian’s big inning came in the fifth as they pushed six runs across.  Cody House (2012) walked with the bases loaded to score one run.  Timmons singled again up the middle to bring two more runs home. John Hardwick (2012) had an RBI single to score House and Jacob Doan singled to score the final two runs.  Decatur Central made a late run by scoring for in the seventh but it was not enough as Perry Meridian held on the advance in the Avon Sectional.
