Last weekend our staff saw nearly thirty teams at the 14/15U Summer Championships in the Richmond area. Today, we look at nearly twenty players that stood out to our staff this past weekend.

Top Performers:

Graydon Ambrose C / First Colonial, VA / 2027

Like many in a 14U tournament, this is our first time seeing Ambrose, and we came away very impressed. Physical 6-foot frame with proportional strength. It is a square stance, simple stride on line, hands make a small load to separate, and the pre pitch movements work. They are simple, repeat, and he shows a feel for timing. The offense is advanced for his age and the defense is above average as well. Will be one to watch develop.

Colt Bradshaw SS / 2B / Cox, VA / 2027

After seeing Bradshaw a few weeks back at Junior State Games, the future Falcon Boy displayed the athleticism we saw a few weeks back. There are some moving parts in the load and the swing has some length at times, but he shows a nice feel for the barrel and getting it through the zone to contact. Level path swing and showed the ability to cover all areas of the zone.

Cole Cinnamond LHP / Great Bridge, VA / 2027

The Chesapeake area left hander started the tournament with a bang. Cinnamond threw a gem on day one. Was perfect through four innings and piled up the strikeouts with two pitch mix, relying mainly on the 77-81 mph fastball (topped 83). Two strong outings throughout the weekend, as well as showed some two way ability. Left handed swing with some length through the zone and adjustability.

Corbin Dean SS / 2B / Dinwiddie , VA / 2026

What a weekend from the Junior Future Games alum. Seemed to have a hit every time he came to the plate. Used the whole field, multiple doubles in the gaps, as well as a double off the bottom of the center field fence on Sunday. Although the run tool is one area that has room for improvement, he showed some lateral range at shortstop and made some nice plays to the forehand side while in a slight shift to pull. Average arm strength, but has a quick release and is accurate across the infield. Plays the game.

Aiden Gallagher C / 1B / Paul VI, VA / 2026

Arguably the best defensive catcher we saw this weekend. The receiving and blocking are average/slightly above average, but the catch and throw is a legitimate tool. Gets the feet going and gets in line. Quick and high exchange, short arm action, and throws are on line with carry. Threw out multiple runners on the weekend and shut down opposing runners. 6-foot-3 frame and has some durability to hold up. Short, compact swing that is more contact driven right now, but should come into some power as he continues to mature. The defense is definitely the driving force in the profile right now, but shows some bat to ball ability with room to grow.

Jayden Grant RHP / SS / Manchester, VA / 2026

On Saturday morning I got to see probably the most dominant pitching performance of the weekend. Grant, a Junior Future Games alum, blew away hitters with his low-mid 80's fastball, striking out fourteen hitters over the course of six innings. He showed some secondary early, but the shape was varied and did not have a great feel for the breaking ball and changeup. Going on pretty much exclusive fastballs, Grant challenged in the zone and then expanded late. I have seen Grant a handful of times this year, and while the velo was down just a touch, the stuff still played. Long levers, loose arm, and there is definitely a lot to be excited about here.

Christian Gray RHP / St. Christopher's, VA / 2026

6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with projection left. It is a simple setup and swing with very few moving parts. The swing is short and has some strength through contact. Worked mostly gap to gap with carry off the bat. There were some variations in setup at times, sometimes square and sometimes open, but regardless of setup, Gray showed the ability to produce barrels. Should be a strong offensive piece for the Saints next spring.

Brady Hull OF / RHP / Eden Christian Academy , PA / 2026

This physical right handed bat was all the buzz this weekend. Tall and narrow setup, had some moving parts in the load and swing, but produces. Matches planes well and can really do damage down in the zone, getting some uphill tilt with the above average bat speed and strength through contact. Something about the twitch in the hands and the way he gets the barrel turned tells me he is going to be a big bat for a long time.

Zavion Jackson OF / RHP / Henrico, VA / 2025

Jackson is a physical left handed bat that has shown well in front of our staff all summer. Raw strength and hitter traits at the plate. Jackson has room to add polish in the overall offensive profile, but the ability to impact the baseball is there. Strength and athleticism is easy to see. Will be interested to see the Henrico product develop, especially when we get to see him face velo down the road.

Blake LaMattina SS / RHP / Cosby, VA / 2027

The 2-way standout had another big weekend. Wider base, slightly closed, medium leg lift, and has some feel for timing. While there were a few instances the foot got down early on spin, he showed the ability to keep the hands back and adjust. Natural loft in the swing with some carry off the bat. Abundant tools for the future Cosby product and am excited to see him get back on the mound at some point.

Boden Lenyk SS / 3B / Butler, PA / 2026

Tall and narrow setup, small glide to stride, gets down on time, and is synced up in the swing. Showed some barrel feel, spraying doubles from line to line, as well as getting the hands in on a fastball and clearing it to get the barrel through for a homerun out of left field. Tools to hit.

Bryce Lyle C / Isle of Wight Academy, VA / 2026

Lyle left a big mark on the offensive side this past weekend. Square stance, hands set back, and loads to a slight wrap. The barrel has length in the zone and some natural loft. Swing showed some power potential to the pull side. Had multiple extra base hits on Thursday, and then turned on a ball for a homerun on Friday.

Nate Reed OF / RHP / LC Bird, VA / 2026

This '26 keeps showing up. 6-foot-3 frame with proportional strength. Square and balanced, loads into the backside, and controlled aggression on the turn. Big arm in the outfield (89 mph), raw power, and well above average bat speed (78 mph). Run tool has some room to improve, but his defensive profile will remain corner outfield/first base. Up to 86 on the mound with some two way potential. This one has a chance to be special in the long run.

Tommy Sharp OF / Langley, VA / 2025

5-foot-10 athletic frame with slightly narrow makeup to the body. Hitterish traits with solid bat to ball. Quiet and simple mechanics to the swing with a level path through the zone. Line drive tendencies and used the whole field. Doubles power and more contact driven swing. Average run tool and can be more efficient with the path to make the turn. Came through with some big hits for the Renegades.

Evan Sherard C / RIVERDALE BAPTIST SCHOOL, MD / 2026

Lean 6-foot-1, 155-pound frame. Proportional strength and some twitch in his actions. Long levers and a higher waist with longer strides getting out of the box. Wider base in the box, simple weight shift back, and hands set back. Slight uphill path and length through the zone, displaying some adjustability in the swing. Power potential and had some pull side tendencies to the swing. Should add good strength/weight to the frame and will be one to watch.

Ryder Sowa 3B / Calvert Hall , MD / 2027

Athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. Simple setup and swing. Hands separate in rhythm and foot gets down on time. Feel for the barrel with middle-pull side tendency. Shorter path to contact and did a nice job matching planes. The run tool is average/slightly below average right now, but Sowa gets out of the box hard and he has plenty of time to improve the turn time. Advanced hit tool to keep an eye on.

Jayden Thompson SS / RHP / Louisa County, VA / 2026

The Junior Future Games alum had a strong weekend at the Summer Championships. Athletic frame, proportional strength, and some two way ability. Had a big weekend at the plate where he showcased a quick whippy swing with some power potential. Loud barrels and produced multiple extra base hits, including a homerun out of left field. Multi-sport athlete that should add good strength to the frame and will continue to progress.

Bryce Torres SS / Liberty Christian Academy, VA / 2026

First time getting to see Torres and we definitely left impressed. While there is some strength that needs to be added, the hit tool and feel for the game are there. Left handed hitter with tremendous feel for the barrel. Length out front and showed some adjustability in the swing. Got out front and out of balance in a few at bats, but the hands stayed back and had the barrel control to still produce solid contact. The bat speed is average and should only get better as he adds strength.

Anthony Williams SS / N/A, MD / 2027

6-foot, 165-pound frame and looks every bit of it. At the plate he has high set hands from an upright stance. Flatter path to contact and strength through the zone. Showed some lateral range at short and has solid arm strength for his class/age. Was up to 82 on the mound and showed a tight downer breaking ball. Strong, physical player with plenty of projection left.
