Catching up With 2011 Pennsylvania Player of the Year Derek Fisher

4/17/12 Derek Fisher, Cedar Crest, 2011
Derek Fisher has quite a bit to do with why Virginia has emerged in the  Division I top 25 poll. The freshman who was the 2011 Pennsylvania High School Player of the Year is hitting .303 on the season.  Fisher was drafted in the sixth-round by the Texas Rangers last year but opted instead to play college baseball. He leads Virginia in triples (eight), home runs (five), and slugging percentage (.645). Fisher's 31 RBIs are second on the team. Virginia (22-10-1) is currently ranked No. 23 in the country.
