Colorado Notebook:

This Notebook has to start with 3A Holy Family Senior and Creighton commit Devlin Granberg

Granberg hit two grand slams today in a 27-3 win over Florence.

Who does that? Even if wind is blowing out you still have to hit the ball.

If anyone can remember a player hitting two grand slams growing up from tee-ball to these playoffs please email [email protected] so we can recognize that achievement.

Granberg ended up with 9 RBI's for the game.

In next game Holy Family and Faith Christian traded the lead five times on Friday, but the Tigers ended up on top with a 6-5 win in seven innings over Faith Christian.

2A Resurrection Christian High School had 21 hits total today and made the semifinals

18 of those hits came from just three players: Del Chance Richardson, Luke Mondt and Josh Miller

Resurrection Christian pitcher and Garden City commit Jake Lohr (7-1) faced the minimum of 18 batters in the opening six-inning game against Dolores, striking out 11 and walking two. He picked off the first runner he walked and the Cougars turned a doubleplay behind him after his second walk.

Denver Christian scored 37 runs in two games today to make the semifinals.

Someone needs to have an arm to beat Denver Christian

Lamar was underrated going into the state playoffs and won first game against University 5-1.

Eaton then beat Lamar 10-0.

Eaton has won 22 games in a row. Could be a record...

Someone needs an arm to beat Eaton.

In 4A Durango will play Niwot in 3:00 in play in game for state championship tomorrow

Durango drove far enough to possibly have host families for the weekend.

How many times have Durango and Niwot played against each other the last 75 years?

Jeffco gets a bad rap for small baseball fields.

Chatfield hit 2 home runs at All-City (Big Field) to help beat Cherry Creek 8-4.

A home run is a home run anywhere.

90 Watch: A.J Jones had a 0. Nick Leonard had 1.

B.Y.U. commit A.J Jones had a no-hitter going into 7th against Fairview

Jones gave up a hit in 7th.."Enter Loptien"

Very Rare Blown save by San Diego commit Loptien, Fairview ties it.

In top of 8th Grizzlies score A.J Jones gets go ahead hit,  8 runs later Loptien gets win instead.

Mountain Vista has pitching also.

Was it a home run in 7th of Chap/Vista game? Heard it was.

Regardless, Mountain Vista pitching only gave up 1 run today against Chap and Chatfield (3 if you want to handicap)

Will Dixon is not a #2 on other teams. 5 hit shutout against Chaparral

Washington State commit Leonard is a # 1 on all teams. CG hitting a "1" against Chatfield in 7-1 victory.

Regis has scored 9 runs in last 3 games against Westminster, Castleview, and Rocky Mountain. In previous 19 games they scored 9 runs a game.

A lot of Continental League talk...but then there is Rocky Mountain.

Rocky Mountain won 4 straight 5A state championships from 2007 to 2001

Not much talk going on about Rocky Mountain.

They won in extra innings today against defending 5A state champions ThunderRidge on a walk off HBP with bases loaded.

Doesn't matter how you win. They will be playing Mountain Vista tomorrow in play in game for 5A state championship.
