PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Baggs: I chose Augie because they have a very successful program, amazing coaches, and they are small school, which is what I was looking for because I have gone to a small school my whole life.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Baggs: Concordia St. Paul, University of Mary, College of St. Scholastica

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

Baggs: Coach Huber first saw me at a Minnesota Blizzard game. After that he said he wasn't really sure if he wanted me, so I went to a showcase in Minnetonka. After that showcase in Minnetonka he said he really liked me once he saw me more up close.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Baggs: Yes, a weight feels lifted off my shoulders and I can relax a lot more.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Baggs: There wasn't necessarily one deciding factor, they were everything I was looking for in a school, and after my visit I knew that Augustana was the place for me.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Baggs: Many People have helped me get where I am today but the top people are: My mom, Perky Hansen (Peter Hansen's dad), Joe Wicklund (high school baseball coach), and Corey Kemp (St. Scholastic's coach)

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Baggs: My friends that committed before me told me it's a grind and isn't easy, and they were right. The recruiting process has tons of pressure on and off the field, from making a final decision on a school to fielding a routine ground ball in front of many college scouts.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Baggs: Huber said I will be bouncing back and forth between second base and shortstop my Freshman year, and most likely being the back up second basemen and shortstop with a Junior second basemen and Senior shortstop infront of me, so if either of them get hurt or fall in a slump I can jump in. Huber's plan for me is to fill the role of the Senior shortstop, so if I keep working my butt off I will be the starting shortstop my Sophomore year.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Baggs: Finishing second at the state tournament last year

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Baggs: Definitely, Ben Pedersen, I face him a lot in the spring, in the batting cage, since we are on the same high school team. His slider is nasty, and his changeup looks just like his fastball.
