Cowley County Picks Up Commitment Andrew Roach

2017 RHP Andrew Roach committed to Cowley County Community College on Friday. Roach is a 6-foot-2 right-hander from Springdale High School. He had a strong showing last spring, leading the Bulldogs to the State play-offs for the first time in ten years. The coaches in the 7A West voted him the conference player of the year. Through his performances during the high school season Roach earned an invite to the Top Prospects Games at Arvest Ballpark in June, He performed well in the event, and continued to impress through out the summer and is currently the No. 10 player in the 2017 class rankings.

Roach is a 6-foot-1 185-pound right hander with an athletic frame and build. He pitches from multiple arm slots but is most consistent from a low ¾ arm slot where he works 84-86 mph with sink. He commands his slider that has Frisbee action with late break. He is sound mechanically repeating his delivery and rhythm. He gets extension to the plate and uses an athletic finish. Overall Roach has advanced pitchability with a quick arm.
