Star City High School 3 vs Crossett High School 1
Star City HS defeated Crossest HS 3-1 Tuesday afternoon behind a great performance from 2016 RHP Blake Wynn.
Wynn pitched a complete game with allowing just one earned run, on three hits. Wynn pounded the strike zone with his fastball and mixed a solid combination of his curveball and slider, to keep the Eagles off balance.
Offensively, Star City scored 2 runs in the 3rd. They were very opportunistic scoring 2 runs on 1 hit, a hit by pitch, 2 errors and a passed ball. Blake Wynn had an RBI single to left to highlight the inning.
Crossett HS answered in the top of the 4th with three singles capped off by a two out RBI single by Hunter Welch.
Star City, scored an insurance run in the bottom of the 5th, Blake Wynn lead off the inning by getting hit by a pitch, stole second, advanced the third on 2016 Austin Powell' ground-ball, and scored on a 2016 Austin Capps' ground-ball.
This was a big game in the conference with both teams being undefeated in the 4A-8 conference play. Crossett will get another shot at Star City in the next couple weeks as they make a trip to Crossett.

2016 RHP Drew Dyer- Benton High School, threw a complete game no-hitter to defeat Pine Bluff High School 3-0.
2015 RHP Zac Harrington- Magnolia High School, threw a complete game no-hitter to defeat Hot Springs High School 10-0
