Monday was all about running down some pitchers that have been creating some buzz. I was able to two games, Catholic High School vs North Little Rock HS and Central Arkansas Christian vs Bauxite High School.
Catholic beat North Little Rock 12- 2. The Rockets used solid pitching and explosive offense to take care of business. They scored 5 runs in the 1st, 4 runs in the 3rd and 3 in the 5th to make short work of the Charging Wildcats. Catholic was led offensively by 2016 MIF Joe Myers who went 3 for 4 with a double, a RBI and 2 runs scored. On the mound they received a sharp start from 2018 LHP Evan Hiatt. He was sharp throwing two innings allowing 0 runs, 1 hit and 3 strike outs. This was Hiatt’s first career win.
Bauxite took care of business against Central Arkansas Christian winning 8-0. The Miners were led by 2015 RHP/OF Ben Madison, both hitting and on the mound. Offensively he had a good day with going 2 for 2, 2B, 3B and 2 BB 3 RBI’s and 3 Runs scored. He also showed off his defensive ability throwing a runner out at third base trying to advance on a Sac Fly. On the mound he pitched two innings with 0 runs, 0 hits 4 strike outs.
