5A Baseball

Cherry Creek 13 Legend 3 (Friday Night)

Alec Adolph (2019), got the Bruins started early in the first inning with a 2 run blast over right center to put the Bruins up 3-0. Legend would storm back in the 3rd inning highlighted by a clutch 2-out bases loaded hit by Landon Boyd (2021). The Bruins would answer back in the bottom of the 4th highlighted by a bases clearing triple by Clay Cutter (2020) which essentially put the game away. Cutter would drive in 4 on the day with 3 hits. The Bruins received a solid outing by Nathan Mitchell (2019) who would pitch 4 innings giving up 2 earned runs while striking out 4. 

Mountain Vista 14 Arapahoe 2

Number one ranked Mountain Vista came out hot on Saturday scoring 8 runs in the top of the second inning, and then added another 2 in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th to 10 run Arapahoe.  Mountain Vista was led by, Sam Ireland (2019) who was 2 for 4 with 4 RBI’s, and on the bump Ben Cole (2020) went 4 innings allowing just 3 hits and striking out 4.

Rock Canyon 8 Palisade 2

After 1 inning, Rock Canyon was trailing the game 1 to 0, but then scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning and never looked back after that scoring in every inning but the 4th to beat the Palisade Bulldogs 8 to 2.  Rock Canyon was led by Jack Sheahan (2020) who went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.

Highlands Ranch 13 Adams City 1

On Saturday, the Falcons came out swinging it, and scored runs in every inning to put away Adams City in a 10-run ballgame.  The Falcons were led by; Tanner Ludwig (2021) who went 3 for 4, scored 3 times and added 4 RBI’s, and Jake McBride (2021) who was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.  On the mound, Stegan Rohacek (2019) and Jack Zebrowski (2019) combined to throw a 2 hitter.

Ralston Valley 3 Lincoln 0

Ralston Valley put up a run in the bottom of the 3rd inning, and then added 2 more in the bottom of the 6th to beat Lincoln 3 to 0.  At the plate for Ralston Valley, Billy Wall (2020) went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and on the bump Joey Steiskal (2019) threw a complete game no-hitter with 8 strikeouts.

Fort Collins 16 Overland 8

The game started out tied after 1 inning with both teams scoring 3 runs, but the in the 2nd inning Fort Collins added 6 runs to take charge in the game and went on to win 16 to 8.  Fort Collins’ Diego Aragon (2020) had a great day at the plate going 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and Hayden Iverson (2020) went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.  For Overland, G. Crawford (2020) was 2 for 3 with 4 RBI’s.

Palmer Ridge 15 Mesa Ridge 0

Palmer Ridge had a convincing win on Saturday.  Palmer Ridge’s Jack Flynn (2020) was 4 for 4, scoring 3 times, and driving in 3 runs, and Charles Deeds (2019) went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.  Charlie Deeds also got the win pitching, he went 4 innings allowing just 1 hit, and striking out 9 Mesa Ridge hitters.

Golden 10 Elizabeth 9

Golden was trailing Elizabeth 9 to 6 going into the bottom of the 7th inning and pushed 4 runs across to win the game.  Golden’s big stick was Zane Covey (2020) who was 2 for 4 with 4 RBI’s.  For Golden Casey Berndt (2019) was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and went deep for his first home run of the year.

Cheyenne Mountain 7 Faith Christian 5

The Indians got off to a great start in their game Saturday, scoring all their runs in the first 4 innings and then held on to beat the Lions 7 to 5. The Indians were led by Denton Damgaard (2022) who went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.
