Daily Roundup: April 17 Games

By Chris Fuller
Kentucky Scouting Director

Rain caused a lot of games on the schedule to be postponed last evening around the state.  There were, however, a handful of games that were able to be played.  Here are your scores and highlights from around Kentucky last evening.

(No.1) St.Xavier 10  DeSales 0 (5 innings)
Ben Britt held DeSales hitless over five innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out 11.  Six runs in the first three innings helped the Tigers blow out DeSales.   A three-run triple by Hayden Ford and an RBI triple by Austin Clemons during the second inning supplied the early offense.   Ford racked up four RBIs on two hits.

(No.15) Tates Creek 5  (No.5) Lexington Catholic 1
Javon Shelby went 3-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, and Blake Rose drove in 2 runs.  Senior lefty Aaron Mitchell went the distance in throwing a complete game 2-hitter for the win.

(No.11) Male 6  Thomas Nelson 0

(No.14) Henderson County 6  Hopkinsville 1

(No.21) Ryle 11  Covington Catholic 2
