Daily Roundup: April 18 Games

By Chris Fuller
Kentucky Scouting Director

The number of undefeated teams left in the state got cut in half last evening as Grant County pulled off a stunning 6-2 upset of No.3 Collins.  The Titans first loss of the season leaves Bullitt East as the lone undefeated team in The Commonwealth as they won their 17th consecutive game, an 8-3 victory over Christian Academy of Louisville.

Tates Creek continued its week of impressive wins with a 5-0 shutout of No.11 Lexington Christian Academy.  In addition, the Commodores also own wins over No.4 PLD and No.5 Lexington Catholic this week, as well.  The pitching of the senior trio of Caleb Johnson, Aaron Mitchell, and Nick Richmond has been lights out, as Tates Creek has allowed a total of two runs in those three victories.  After a somewhat slow start to the season, the Commodores, loaded with talent, now stand at 7-3 and are starting to play the type of baseball we felt they would.

Here are the scores and highlights from around the state last evening.
