Mother Nature reared her ugly head once again yesterday, washing out most of the games around the state. 

In limited action yesterday: 

No. 5 Notre Dame 10   Sikeston 1
In a battle of the Bulldogs, Notre Dame made easy work of rival Sikeston. While the game was close for four innings, Notre Dame flipped a switch and the bats came alive scoring three runs in the fifth inning and seven in the sixth. 

Sikeston got on the board early, scoring a run in the bottom of the third on a solo homerun off the bat of Tyler Anderson. 

In the fifth inning, Note Dame showed why they are the No. 5 ranked team, with timely hitting and heads up base running.  A Cody DeBrock double got things started, and he came around to score on a Griffin Siebert single; Siebert advanced to second on the throw.  A single by Chase Urhahn allowed Siebert to score and Urhahn advanced to second on the throw home.  A few wild pitches later, Urhahn crossed the plate and extended the lead to 3-1. 

In the seventh, Notre Dame put the game out of reach. A two RBI double off the bat of Luke Haines and a RBI double off the bat of DeBrock provided the knockout punches. 

While Notre Dame only had six hits on the afternoon, they were able to take advantage of five Sikeston errors. 

Justin Landewee picked up the win for Notre Dame, scattering six hits and striking out four in the complete game effort. 

Oran 8   Woodland 2
Bear Hicks and Alex Heuring each drove in three, while Jacob Priggel drove in two in a 8-2 win over Woodland. Heuring went 3-for-3 and Hicks, Kody Moore, Hunter Schlosser, and Preston Hahn each had two hits for Oran. 

Cape Central   Kennett 1
Cape Central jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, scoring two runs in the second and two more in the third. 

Hillcrest 6   West Plains 5
Weston Buchanon’s three run homerun in the first inning powered Hillcrest over 6 to 5. Kyle Turner gets the win for Hillcrest.
