Daily Roundup: April 3 Games



Indiana Roundup - April 3

Floyd Central 6 #3 Jeffersonville 5
– Trey Fulton came through in the bottom of the seventh with a RBI single to give Floyd the victory. Kyle Sipes got the win keeping Jeff scoreless in their last two at bats. 

#4 McCutcheon 10 West Lafayette 0 – Jordan Young threw five innings to get the win. He allowed just one hit and struck out ten, at the plate he homered and had a RBI single. Braden Giroux was 2-4 with a triple and two runs scored. Andrew Roginski was 2-2 with two RBI. 

#11 Andrean 2 Hammond Morton 0 – Andrean jumped on the board early with two runs in the first. Matt Desomer doubled in a run then scored on an error to put Andrean up 2-0. That would be all Andrean pitchers would need. Jimmy Tarala got the win throwing four innings allowing just one hit and striking out three. Jimmy Skiff got the three inning save, also allowing just one hit and striking out six. 

#12 Cathedral 10 Scecina Memorial 0 – Will Birch and Ashe Russell combined to throw a perfect game for the Irish. Brendan Flood and Austin Spraks each homered in the win. 

#14 New Castle 16 Muncie Southside 4 

#23 Hobart 6 Highland 1 – Brandon Murray got the win throwing all seven innings allowing three hits and striking out 15. At the plate he was 2-4 with a double and two RBI. Daniel Stewart led the Hobart offense going 3-4 with a double, RBI, and two runs. 

Wheeler 10 Hebron 5 –Wheeler jumped on the board early with three in the first and put the game away with five in the fourth. Sam Bolla led the offense going 2-4 with a double, three RBI, and two runs scored. Matt Pappas had a big game as well going 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored. Dustin Bogs was 2-2 with two RBI and Austin Whitaker double, drove in a run, and scored once. 

Hamilton Southeastern 13 Pendleton Heights 2 – HSE jumped on the board early with five runs. Steven Curry got the win throwing three innings allowing two hits and striking out six. Mitch Roman had a big day at the plate going 3-4 with a double, five RBI, and two runs. Brendan Burns and Matt Nash each went 2-3 at the plate with a RBI, Burns scored twice and Nash scored once. 

Adams Central 4 Fremont 2 – Adams Central fell behind early but charged back with four runs in the final three innings for the win. Senior LHP Isaac Luginbill (1-0) pitched three solid innings in notching the win. Dalton Combs pitched the final inning striking out one to earn the save. Glen McClain pitched three strong innings for Fremont. Cooper Hill lead AC with two hits and two runs scored. Combs went 1-2 with a double for Adams Central. 

Charlestown 7 Madison Shawe 0 - Charlestown sophomore RHP Drew Reich tosses a complete game no-hitter during Charlestown's first regular season home opener in their new ballpark.  Reich struck out seven to up his record to 2-0 on the mound.  The Pirates are now 2-2 on the young season. 

Homestead 7 Mt. Vernon 2 – Josh Thompson got the win throwing four innings allowing two runs and striking out four. McLean Trieglaff threw the final three innings to get the save allowing no hits and striking out three. Joe Ault had a big day at the plate going 3-4 with a double, three RBI, and two runs. Kyle Mohsenzadeh was 2-2 with three runs scored and Luke Landrigan was 2-3 with a RBI. 

Bloomington North 7 Linton 0 – North got a great pitching performance from three different players. Adam Cornwell started the game going three innings allowing one hit and striking out six, Colby Stratten threw two innings allowing one hit and striking out six, and Dylan Stutsman threw two innings allowing one hit and striking out three. Cornwell drove in a run, Blake Richardson was 2-4 with a RBI, and Ryan Wicker singled and drove in two. 

LaPorte 7 SB Adams 0 – Ben Saliwanchik threw a no hitter allowing just two walks and striking out 12. Francis Silfa drove in doubled and drove in three runs. 

Chesterton 5 East Chicago Central 0 – Mitchel Kobitz was dominant on the mound throwing six innings allowing just one hit, one walk, and striking out 12, he also drove in two runs at the plate. Mike Crowley scored twice in the win. 

White River Valley 7 North Central (Farmersburg) 0 – Ethan Stephen got the win for WRV going all seven innings allowing five hits and striking out seven, at the plate he doubled at drove in two runs. WRV had 14 hits in the game led by Houston Boram going 3-4 with a triple, RBI, and two runs. Alex Reel also had three hits going 3-3. Trent Carpenter was 2-3 with a RBI and a run. 

Michigan City 2 New Prairie 1 – Ryan Washington got the win on the mound throwing five innings, allowing one unearned run, and five hits. At the plate he was 2-3 with a RBI and a run. Danny Lemon was 2-3 and Tommy Byvoets doubled and drove in a run. 

Heritage Hills 7 Tell City 4 – Tyler Ward got the win throwing five innings allowing one run on four hits and striking out seven. Kenton Crews was 2-3 with two RBI and Dugan Kippenbrock doubled and drove in two runs. 

Rising Sun 12 Trinity Lutheran 0 – Nathan Hannan threw a five inning no hitter allowing three walks and striking out 12. 

Wapahani 11 Randolph Southern 0 – Austin White got the win throwing four innings allowing two hits and striking out six. Casey Jones led the way offensively going 2-3 with a double and three RBI. Jacob Walters was 2-4 with two RBI and Collin Hoots was 2-3 with a RBI. Ryan Estep doubled, drove in a run, and scored three times. 

Morgan Township 8 Hammond Academy 0 – Ryan Klikus got the one throwing seven innings of one hit baseball, walking none, and striking out 10. Adam Rettinger was 2-4 with a double and two RBI and Jacob Hernandez was 2-3 with two runs. 

Delphi 10 Rossville 0 – Delphi scored five in the fourth and four in the fifth to walk away with a five inning victory. Erik Carpenter threw all five innings to get the win allowing just two hits, no walks, and striking out eight. Ostin Clark, Garrett Johnson, Kolby Myer, and Codey Sattler each had two RBI. 

North Vermillion 5 Rockville 2 – James Fortner got the win throwing all seven innings allowing two runs and striking out nine. Davin Craft was 2-3 with a double and a RBI, Kody Zumwalt was 2-4 with two doubles and a run, Devon Sams was 2-4 with a RBI, and Austin Dickerson drove in two. 

Dalevile 7 Monroe Central 6 – Daleville scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to get the walk off victory.  Brent Blackwell went 2-2 with a double and three RBI. Taylor Clark was 3-4 with a RBI and Kory Roberts drove in a run.
