Indiana Weekend Roundup: April 5-6

#1 Elkhart Central 4 Tippecanoe Valley 0
– Riley Futterknecht picked up his first win of the year going all seven innings allowing just two hits and striking out 13. Kaleb DeFreese and Devin Prater both had two hits, including a double. DeFreese drove in two runs and Prater scored two runs. 

#1 Elkhart Central 14 Tippecanoe Valley 4 – Devin Prater threw all five innings to get the win. Riley Futterknecht led the offense getting two hits, one double, and drive in four runs. Casey Ianigro doubled and drove in two runs. Michael Namisnak, Tanner Tully, and Kaleb DeFreese each drove in two runs. 

#2 Crown Point 3 Mt. Carmel (IL) 2 – Noah Burkholder got the win throwing 6.2 innings allowing one earned on five hits and striking out five. Jake Carey was 2-3 with a RBI and Jake Jatis doubled and drove in a run. 

Castle 3 #3 Jeffersonville 1 

Terre Haute North 16 #4 McCutcheon 7 – Game story later today

#5 New Albany 4 Lowell (MI) – Garrett Sherrell threw a no hitter to pick up the win. 

#6 FW Northrop 21 East Noble 2 – Joe Filosa got the win throwing five innings allowing two hits, two runs, and striking out four. Colin Brockhouse had a big day at the plate going 3-4 with a double, homerun, four RBI, and two runs. Tyler Huth was 3-5 with a double, four RBI, and two runs, Charlie Sipe was 2-4 with a homerun and four runs, Nathan Schreiber was 2-3 with a homerun, two RBI, and two runs, and Matt Bandor was 2-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs. 

#7 Zionsville 11 West Vigo 2 

#7 Zionsville 16 #15 Center Grove 4 – Game story later today 

#8 Lake Central 5 Highland 0 – Antonio Majstorov got the win throwing four innings allowing one hit and striking out five. He also doubled and drove in two runs at the plate. 

Carmel 6 #8 Lake Central 0 – Ryan Campbell got the win throwing five innings allowing five hits and striking out two. Kyle Fiala hit a solo homerun and Tony Giannini went 2-3 with two RBI. 

Carmel 10 #8 Lake Central 9 – Carmel put up three runs in each of their final three at bats to get the win. Tony Giannini drove in the game winning run with a RBI single, finishing the day 2-4 with two RBI. Kyle Fiala was 2-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and three runs scored. Thomas Baldwin was 2-3 with three runs scored. 

#11 Andrean 4 #20 Penn 1 – Matt DeSomer got the win throwing 5.1 innings allowing one run on six hits and striking out seven.  Alejandro Kinney led the offense going 2-3 with a homerun and two RBI, Jamie Johnson was 2-3 with a double, triple, and two runs, and Zac Ryan was 2-2 with a double and a run scored. 

#12 Cathedral 2 Franklin 0 – Ashe Russell picked up the win and Luke Cureton hit a two run homerun to lead Cathedral over Franklin. 

#12 Cathedral 6 Franklin 1 – Austin Sparks had a big day at the plate hitting a homerun and driving in five runs. 

Brebeuf 6 #13 Bloomington South 1 – Spencer Martin shut down South’s offense allowing one run on three hits and striking out two, he was also 2-2 at the plate with a RBI. Ben Powell got Brebeuf on the board with a three run homerun, finishing the day 2-3 with three RBI. Nick Chambers was 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored. 

#14 New Castle 5 Wapahani 2 F/8 – Michael Baer got a no decision throwing seven innings allowing one earned and striking out six. Zak Kellog was 2-5 with a RBI and a run and Kenny Martin was 1-3 with a RBI and a run. 

#14 New Castle 6 Wapahani 3 F/8 – New Castle won another game scoring three runs in the top of the eighth. Kodi King got the win throwing two innings allowing one hit and striking out two. Tyler Smith drove in two and scored once and Kenny Martin drove in a run. 

#15 Center Grove 13 Connersville 0 

#18 Greensburg 14 South Ripley 2 – Tyler Burcham got the win throwing three innings allowing no earned runs, three hits, and striking out eight. Riley Billieu threw the last two innings no allowing a hit and striking out three. Austin Schultz led the offense going 4-4 with a double, homerun, and two RBI. Kyle Moeller was 2-3 with a double and two RBI, Macy Holdsworth was 2-4 with two RBI, and Andy Meadows was 1-2 with three RBI. 

#19 Valparaiso 11 Munster 5 – Tyler Ellrich got the win throwing four innings allowing one run and striking out two. Alex Bales had a big game at the plate going 3-3 with three RBI and CJ Gear went 2-3 with a double and a RBI. Jared Folke drove in two runs. 

#19 Valparaiso 7 Griffith 0 – Alex Bales got the win throwing all seven innings allowing four hits and striking out seven. CJ Gear went 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Sam Miller also drove in two runs. 

Castle 1 #21 Evansville North 0 – Mitch Powers threw a complete game getting the win for Castle. 

#23 Hobart 6 LaPorte 5 F/9 – Drey Devereauz led the offense going 4-4 with two RBI. Brandon Murray was 3-5 with a double and a run scored. Daniel Stewart was 2-3 at the plate and got the win on the mound throwing 4.1 innings allowing one run on three hits and striking out four. 

#23 Hobart 10 Elkhart Memorial 0 – Sharpe Marshall threw all five innings allowing four hits and striking out three. Tyrus Joseforsky had a big day at the plate going 4-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and three runs scored. Guy Birchel was 2-2 with a double and RBI and Daniel Stewart was 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored. 

Lakeshore (MI) 3 #23 Hobart 2 

Adams Central 15 South Adams 3 – Dalton Combs got his first win of the year striking out five, at the plate he went 3-4 with two doubles. Isaac Soldner was 4-4 with a homerun and Conner Lengerich was 3-4 with a homerun. 

Adams Central 3 Bellmont 1 – Isaac Luginbill got his second win of the year allowing just two hits. Trailing 1-0 in the third Dalton Combs singled in a run and Adams Central scored two more in the inning to take a 3-1 lead. Dylan Call took the loss allowing just three hits and striking out eight. 

Batesville 11 South Ripley 3 – Bryan Hoeing and Austin Westerfeld both was 3-4 in the game with three RBI. Westerfeld doubled and scored twice and Hoeing tripled and scored three times. Nick Kirschner was 2-4 with two runs and Conner Schuck was 2-4 with two RBI. 

Bishop Noll 15 Whiteland 3 – Noll scored in every at bat led by Anthony Fundunkian going 4-4 with three RBI. Nick Thrasher was 2-3 with a double, four RBI, and three runs and Angel Figueroa was 2-4 with two RBI. 

Bloomington North 11 Lawrence North 5 – Bryce Aldridge had a big day at the plate going 4-5 with a double, homerun, and three RBI. Adam Cornwell was 3-4 with a double and two RBI, Baron Ryan was 2-4 with a homerun, two RBI, and three runs, and Colby Stratten was 2-4 with two doubles and a RBI. 

Lawrence North 2 Bloomington North 1 – John Leffert got the win throwing 4.1 innings allowing one run on four hits and striking out four. Cole Dalton threw the last 2.2 innings allowing no hits and striking out two. Zane Johnson was 2-2 with a double and two RBI. Mark Brown was also 2-2 with a run scored. 

Charlestown 12 New Washington 0 – Darren Taylor got his first win of the year throwing a no hitter while striking out nine. At the plate he was 2-3 with two RBI. 

Charlestown 13 New Washington 3 – Colin Martin got the win improving Charlestown to 4-2 on the year. Tyler Willinger had a big day at the plate finishing the two games 5-6 with a triple and four RBI. 

Convenant Christian 11 Scecina Memorial 4 – Jake Labounty got the win throwing three innings allowing four hits, no runs, and striking out one. Grayson Prather was 4-4 with a RBI, Steven Watson drove in two and scored, and Eric Murphy was 2-3 with two RBI and a run. 

Delphi 4 Carroll (Flora) 1 – Ostin Clark got the win throwing 5.1 innings allowing just one run and one hit while striking out eight. Codey Sattler was 2-3 with a double and two runs. 

Delphi 9 Fountain Central 0 – Sterrett threw a no hitter working all seven innings and striking out an impressive 17 batters. 

Floyd Central 9 Northfield 2 – Cody Sunderhaus got the win throwing four innings allowing two runs on one hit. Trey Fulton led the offense going 3-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Colton Kimm was 2-4 with three RBI. 

Frontier 4 Tri-County 1 – Hunter Gladish got the win throwing all seven innings allowing one run on four hits while striking out five. 

FW Carroll 3 Fishers 2 – Blake Converset got the win throwing six innings allowing one earned run and striking out three. Grant Inman got the save throwing a hitless seventh inning. Drue Tranquill drove in a run and Matthieu Meihls doubled in the win. 

FW Carroll 2 Fishers 0 – Taylor Goshen got the win throwing all seven innings allowing just three hits and striking out five. Matthieu Meihls and Trevor Snyder both went 2-3 with a run scored. 

Hamilton Southeastern 5 Farmington (MI) 4 – Alex Woodcock got the win throwing 4.2 innings allowing one earned run on six hits and striking out five. Brenden Burns and Erik DeWael were both 2-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Tre Gantt was 2-3 with a RBI and Steven Curry also drove in a run. 

Hamilton Southeastern 13 Northview 6 – Mitch Roman had a big game at the plate going 3-3 with a homerun and seven RBI. Matt Nash was 2-2 with a double, two RBI, and four runs and Tre Gantt was 3-4 with four runs scored. Evan Goetz got the win throwing four innings allowing two runs on three hits. 

Hamilton Southeastern 15 Perry Meridian 5 – Steven Curry led the offense going 3-4 with a homerun two RBI and two runs scored. Erik DeWael was 3-3 with two RBI and two runs, Tre Gantt was 2-2 with three RBI and two runs, and Mitch Roman doubled and drove in two runs. 

Homestead 14 Carson City 0 – DJ Moore, Damon Larkey, and Justin Jones combined to throw a no hitter, Moore got the win throwing three innings striking out two. Will Howenstine was 3-3 with a RBI and two runs, Luke Landrigan was 2-2 with two RBI, Kyle Mohsenzadeh was 2-3 with a RBI and two runs, and Nick Denice was 2-2 with a RBI and three runs. 

Homestead 15 Carson City 8 – Will Howenstine was 2-2 was two RBI and two runs and Joe Ault was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs. Matt Volz, Nick Denice, and Kyle Mohsenzadeh each drove in two runs. Kyle Plasterer got the win throwing four innings allowing three runs. 

Kankakee Valley 9 Kouts 1 – Matt Berdine got the win throwing 4.2 innings allowing two hits, no runs, and striking out four. Jerzy Dunlap led the offense going 2-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Berdine was also 2-3 with two runs scored. 

Lafayette Central Catholic 6 Murpheesboro (TN) F/8 – Pete Metzinger went 3-4 with a RBI and a run and Jackson Anthrop went 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored. 

Logansport 12 Lafayette Harrison 11 

Lowell 2 Merrillville 0 – Josh Arnold got the win throwing all seven innings scattering six hits and striking out four. Bryan Thomas led the offense going 2-2 with a double and two RBI. 

Mishawaka Marian 10 LaVille 0 – Jimmy Cantanzrite threw four innings allowing just one hit and striking out six. Josh Turnock led the offense going 2-3 with a triple and four RBI. Luke Gaboury had three hits and Jay Eggeman drove in two runs. 

Morgan Township 15 Calumet 0 – Joe Dougherty got the win throwing five innings of one hit baseball and striking out seven, he also homered and drove in three runs. Jake Koselke also homered and drove in three runs. Ryan Klikus was 2-3 with two RBI and three runs and Adam Rettinger was 2-2 with three runs scored. 

Muncie Central 11 Blackford 10 – Jordan Poore was 2-4 with a double, homerun, and three RBI. Sam Cavanaugh was 3-3 with a RBI, Brannon Muncey was 2-4 with two RBI, and Caleb Pine was 2-5 with a double, RBI, and two runs. 

New Palestine 13 Mt. Vernon (Fortville) 10 – Connor Swain led the offense going 3-3 with two RBI and two runs. Stephen Clark doubled and drove in two, Nick Butcher was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, and Alex Thomas homered and drove in two runs. 

Noblesville 5 Science Hill (TN) 4 – Zach St. Pierre got the win throwing five innings allowing three runs on three hits and striking out four, he also drove in a run at the plate. TJ Linsdstrand was 2-3 with two doubles and a run scored. Luke Porter was 2-3 with a RBI and a run and Brian McLean was 2-3 with a run scored. 

Noblesville 6 Lexington Catholic (KY) 5 – Noblesville scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to knock off the number one team in Kentucky. Garrett Christman and Vincent Essig were both 2-4 with a RBI. Luke Porter and TJ Lindstrand both drove in a run. 

Northfield 3 Austin 2 F/9 – Andy Roser got a no decision going 7.1 innings allowing one earned on four hits and striking out 10, Roser also homered. Joe Ross got the win throwing the final 1.2 innings allowing one hit and striking out three. Ross was 2-4 at the plate with two doubles and a RBI. Ryan Keaffaber was 2-4 with a double and two runs. 

North Vermillion 7 Riverton Parke 3 – Jordan West got the win throwing six shutout innings allowing just one hit and striking out three. Wade Harrison was 3-4 with a RBI and Devon Sams was 2-4 with a RBI. 

Shenandoah 10 Eastern Hancock 5 – Clint Nation got the win throwing three innings allowing no hits and striking out three. Trevor Conner homered and drove in three, Terick Warner was 2-4 with a RBI, and Colin Casstevens was 2-4 with two runs. 

Shenandoah 8 Eastern Hancock 2 – Caleb York got the win throwing two innings allowing no hits and striking out two. Trevor Conner was 3-3 with three RBI and a run scored. Kain Harless and Colin Casstevens both drove in two runs.

Westview 10 Mishawaka 6 – Westview scored five runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead. Jamar Weaver and Judah Zickafoose both went 3-4 with four RBI and two runs scored, Weaver doubled and Zickafoose hit a homerun. Tarrin Beachy got the win throwing five innings allowing two runs on two hits and striking out eight, he also drove in two runs at the plate. 

Mishawaka 6 Westview 5 – Sam Schrader got the win throwing six innings and striking out eight, he also drove in a run and scored twice. Murphy Jobin was 2-4 with two RBI and Kyle Carson was 2-2 with two RBI and a run scored. 

Whiteland 12 SB Washington 2 – Jared Adkins got the win throwing five scoreless innings. Whiteland’s offense combined for 13 hits. 

Yorktown 10 Oak Hill 0 –Joe Bush got the win throwing four innings allowing four hits and striking out five. Austin Stout led the offense going 2-3 with a double and three RBI. Phillip Perry went 2-2 with two runs scored. 

Yorktown 2 Delta 1 – Zeth Tanner got the win throwing all seven innings allowing on unearned run on two hits and striking out nine. Joe Bush was 2-2 with a RBI and a run scored and Ryan Cates doubled and scored a run.
