No. 1 Plainfield North 5, Bolingbrook 1
Brandon Knox
went 4-for-4 and Tyler Garrity drove in two runs for Plainfield North.

No. 3 St. Rita 10, Benet 0
Ray Hansen
had a three-run double and Dom Sarro and Christian Pearl homered in the five-inning victory.

No. 4 Providence 13, Minooka 1 (6 innings)
Minooka, IL – Senior right-handed pitcher Joe Butler started on the mound for Minooka (1-1). His fastball reached 87 mph early on and sat 82-86 the rest of the way. Butler was able to keep the potent Providence Catholic (2-0) offense off balance until the fourth inning. Down 1-0, in the top of the fourth, the middle of the Celtics order got things going.  Jackson Dvorac and Brendan O’Hara each hit RBI doubles which led to 3 runs in that half. From there, the Celtics offense never looked back, scoring 10 more runs in the sixth inning.

Dvorac went 2-for-3, 2B, 3 runs, RBI; Matt Waznis went 1-for-3, 3-run HR, 2 runs; Jim Jeffries hit a grand slam and RHP Connor Creed came out of the bullpen, 3 inn, 3 hits, 0 ER and 2 K’s to lead Providence Catholic.

No. 5 Mount Carmel 11, Lincoln-Way East 1
A.J. Lewis
went 2-for-2 and Zion Pettigrew and Neil Novosel drove in two runs apiece for the Caravan. Cameron Hupe pitched a two-hitter in the five-inning victory.

No. 8 Brother Rice 10, Prairie Ridge 2
Andrew Dyke
homered and tripled and Mike Massey had three hits for the Crusaders.

No. 10 Joliet Catholic 7, Lincoln-Way North 1
Drake Fellows struck out 10, allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over six innings for Joliet Catholic. Sam Seneker went 2-for-3, 2B, BB, 1 run and 1 RBI for the Hilltoppers.

No. 12 Lemont 10, T.F. North 0
Garrett Acton
and Nate Madej teamed up on a no-hitter, striking out 20 of a possible 21 in the victory. Acton had nine strikeouts in three innings and Madej came on and struck out 11 in four. 

No. 15 Nazareth 9, Ridgewood 3
Will McKenna
went 3-for-3 with two doubles and winning pitcher Carson Bartels went 2-for-3 for the Roadrunners.

No. 25 St. Joseph Ogden 12, Westmont 0
Ty Brown
went 4-5, drove in one and scored three runs and LHP Mason Coon struck out 11 in six innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits for the Spartans.

Jake Smith
went the distance on a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and two walks and Sean Sinisko drove in both ACC runs.

allowed three hits in six innings and Adam Kale had a two-run single as Jacobs pulled away with three in the bottom of the sixth.

St. Charles East 1, Lyons 0
Jim Dale’s
single in the bottom of the ninth brough home John Dellostritto with the game’s only run. Matt Breidigan and Steve Podany combined to pitch a gem for the Saints. Breidigan allowed two hits while striking out six in four innings. Podany allowed one hit over the final five to earn the win despite not recording a single strikeout.

Wheaton North 6, Downers Grove North 5
Will Robbins
singled home the tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the sixth inning as Wheaton North rallied from a 5-0 deficit. Ben Leander had two hits int he victory.

Reed-Custer 8, Dwight 0
Jordan Walden
pitched a no-hitter with 17 strikeouts and one walk. Travis Schoonover went 3-for-5 and scored three runs.

Reed-Custer 4, El Paso-Gridley 0
Brent Headrick
pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks and Hunter Murawski belted a three-run homer in the victory.

Prospect 6, Andrew 1
Ryan Molini
pitched four scoreless innings and Ryan Howe drove in two runs for the Knights.

Coal City 8, Beecher 4
Pillon Siejka
went 3-for-4 and Blake Harseim had two RBI for Coal City.

Tanner Saddler
pitched a three-hitter and Andrew Olszewski drove in three runs for Beecher.

Glenbrook North 11, Von Steuben 1
Kyle Mitter
went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs for the Spartans.

Batavia 14, Glenbard West 4
Ben Lynam
went 4-for-4 with a home run and five RBI and Kyle Niemiec (2-for-2, three RBI, four runs) also went deep for the Bulldogs.

McHenry 4, Maine South 1
Bobby Miller
allowed one hit in five innings while striking out eight and walking three to earn the victory. Matt Nagel went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run for McHenry.

Downers Grove South 10, Hillcrest 4
Ben Ficht
went 4-for-4 with five RBI and Mike Hall hit a three-run homer for DGS.

Grant 3, Lake View 2
Pinch-hitter Jake Mitchell’s two-run double was followed by Ray Guardado’s walk-off suicide squeeze as Grant won it with three in the bottom of the seventh.

Grant 12, DePaul Prep 5
Ricky Allen
doubled twice and had two RBI for Grant.

Dunlap 5, Galesburg 4
Ben Hopkins
went 3-for-4 and Reid Jockish broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI single in the top of the seventh. Fernando Diaz went 2-for-2 with two walks for Galesburg.

Sycamore 7, Elgin 0
Five Sycamore pitchers combined on a one-hitter and Tyler Didio doubled and had two RBI for Sycamore.

DePaul Prep 10, Lake View 6
Grayson Sanchez
and Julian Gonzalez had two hits apiece and Austin Straley had a two-run single in the five-run fifth for the Rams. Gonzalez had 11 strikeouts in five innings.

Montini 11, Northside Prep 1
Alex Luka
and Nicholas Malik had two hits each and Anthony Rogers improved to 2-0 on the mound.

Freeport 2, Marengo 0
Connor Bendick’s
two-run single in the bottom of the sixth accounted for the scoring and Ben Swords and Tegan Woods combined on a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts and four walks. Swords struck out seven in four innings, while Woods fanned eight to pick up the victory in relief.

Elk Grove 6, Wheaton Warrenville South 3
Christian Camacho
struck out 11 in the complete-game victory for Elk Grove. He gave up four hits and did not allow an earned run. Paul Monaco had two hits for WWS.

went 2-for-3 and scored three times and Danny Denz allowed one hit while striking out seven in four innings.

pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and three walks and Thadden Brown went 3-for-3 in the victory.

pitched a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk and Hayden Stoewer had an RBI double for the Ironmen.

Taylor Jackson
went 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs, finishing a home run shy of the cycle in the Broncos’ victory. Jason Hunt went 2-for-3 with three RBI for Kenwood.
