Daily Roundup: May 16 Games

Brighton 11, Lakeland 1: Ryan McClelland threw five innings and hit a three-run home run for Brighton. He allowed only one run on two hits while striking out five and walking none. Robert Spencer, Kyle Bederka, and Blake Pokorski each had a pair of hits and a pair of RBIs for Brighton. 

Tecumseh 10-5, Dexter 0-3: In the first game, junior Phil Carey struck out seven in five innings while allowing only two hits for Tecumseh. Nick Cowen had four hits in the win for Tecumseh. In the second game Andrew Wood allowed three hits in four innings and Jacob Britt struck out five in three innings. The Toledo-bound Britt had three hits including a home run and a triple for Tecumseh.

Saline 9-4, Ann Arbor Huron 3-3: Michael Hendrickson struck out eleven in six innings for Saline in the first game. Gage Hammond, Trent Theisen, Andrew White, and Hendrickson each had two hits. Hendrickson's two hits were doubles. In the second game Eric Berki threw a complete game and Hammond had three more hits for Saline.

Temperance Bedford 1-8, Ann Arbor Pioneer 0-3: In the first game Matt Clendenin threw a three-hitter in the loss for Pioneer. Michigan-bound Jackson Lamb struck out thirteen in seven innings for Bedford and hit a double. In the second game Lamb hit another double while Josh Strickland got the win.

Ortonville Brandon 12-2, Almont 7-1: In the first game Jack Hranec went 4-4 and got the win on the mound for Brandon.

Lake Orion 7, Rochester Adams 1: Brad Schaenzer and Nick Deeg each had two hits for Lake Orion while Ken Guldi got the win on the mound for Lake Orion.

Walled Lake Central 12, Walled Lake Western 4: Jeturi Brown hit a grand slam for Central.

Madison Heights Bishop Foley 8, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 2: Garrett Schilling struck out nine in six innings for Foley.

Brother Rice 12, Catholic Central 2: Matt Ruppenthal threw a complete game for Brother Rice, striking out three in six innings.

St. Clair 12, Marine City 3: Connor Knecht had three hits for St. Clair.

Sterling Heights Parkway Christian 15, Southfield Christian 5: Cole Kasperowicz struck out seven in five innings while only allowing two hits for Parkway. He also had two hits while Austin Fuller and Riley McManus had a hit apiece.

Armada 10, New Baltimore Anchor Bay 6: Logan Vettraino threw all six innings for Armada while striking out three. He also went 5-5 at the plate, hitting a home run, scoring two runs, driving in two runs, and stealing two bases.

Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett 8, Auburn Hills Oakland Christian 0: Mark Auk struck out eleven in six innings while going 3-4 for Liggett. Ian Clark went 3-4 as well.
